Took my cat to get spayed. During surgery the vet rang to say she is pregnant, albeit in the early stages. The vet sewed her back up as I couldn't ask her to abort any kittens. However, here is the twist in the tale, the cat literally never goes outside except to go to the vet. Our other cat is a spayed female. I included a pic of her nipple. In real life it's obviously pink, but not reddish like pics online. I don't remember what her nipples looked like before but I feel like they were smaller. But maybe this one looks bigger because of the shave. I know time will tell, but I am annoyed that the vet told us about the (possible?) pregnancy then acted all judgy when I was not willing to have her aborted. Personally I feel like she has some other condition that mimics pregnancy, I know humans can. Any thoughts/advice? Thank you!

Yeah, that is a peculiar twist of human psychology. He probably wanted to be super correct, but assumed he would get the Go on, anyway.

Also, he didnt wanted to risk IF you knew she was in early pregancy, and he didnt mentioned it nor phoned, he would either look as a fool OR a totally unreliable vet.

This reminds me, when I was eating out with a group, and one of the girls asked if it was OK to smoke. Telling proudly she has learned to always ask. But she got visibly sour when I ask her to wait a little, till we were done with the eating.   For me, smoke and eating destroy the pleasure...

Its quite possible she is pregnant yes, it doesnt take long for them to sneak out.  When they are in heat, toms all around feel it, and gather around.  And she too smells the tom being nearby. To sheak out and have it does takes just a couple of minutes if the tom is experienced - and she is willing.

Sometimes its even the tom sneaking in into the house..

So the recurring paradox - she happened to get out just once, and I swear, she couldnt be outside longer than maximum a hour.   This is no very strange statistical impossibility, its vice versa a statistically safety: this happens becuase this happens.  Heat, toms, mating,

Hmm, I like that analogy! Maybe my response DID surprise the vet.

I am still not convinced my cat could be actually pregnant, though. She really really HATES the outside world, and she has no opportunity to escape even if she was keen to get out, unless she's mastered the art of opening doors with knobs rather than handles.

Ah well, give it a month and I guess I'll know for sure one way or the other.
