Does anyone have experience with fip? was it dry or wet? Is this what the eyes look like?

I have experience with both the dry form and the wet form. One cat was PTS the day of diagnosis (wet form) the other lived for 14 weeks after diagnosis (dry form).

The thing about FIP is that it doesn't present the same way in all cats. There are certain changes to the eyes that can take place; but, more often than not a vet opthahmologist is the one to say whether the changes are due to FIP or another disease/problem.

I am unsure what you are asking about in the pics you posted. Is it the pupil size, or possibly the spotting taking place?

catpack catpack she has spotting on the outer layer, her pupil on one side has stopped contracting in light and the iris is turning reddish. This is coupled with fever non responsive to meds, lethargy, blood in stool. The rescue thinks it's fip but I'm just wondering if there is anything else I should try to do for her?

So-so. He's still eating and drinking some, and using the litterbox without sign of major GI distress, but also still quite reclusive. He let my mom pull him out for some petting and snuggles, which he purred for, though he didn't get very "into" it or stay out once he was let go.

He's out of NSAIDs now, so we'll see how he's feeling off of his kitty advil. I'm hoping it wasn't just that making him feel better. =/ Thank you for checking in! I just wish we knew for sure what it was. It's such a rollercoaster wondering if it's FIP or just a big out of control.
I understand the roller coaster I'm on it too :( and I have anxiety like yourself so it doesn't help. Hope he does ok.

If I were you, I'd start with a full blood panel, do a fecal test (if in house has been done, I'd send out a feline GI panel testing for harder to detect parasites/protozoan.)

Since you have noticed changes in the eyes, I'd get an opinion from a vet opthahmologist.

If finances are a concern, I'd start with the blood work, then opthahmologist, then fecal panel.

@Perididdle my kitties fever goes up and down every other day so if you can try to get temp on a few occasions throughout the week.

catpack catpack we did stool sample when vet thought it was giardia but was negative for all. Continued with flagyl anyway. I'll call and ask if it was an in house test.
Also did blood work but they said nothing alarming other than globulin levels off. Put her on amoxicillin.
Haven't been to an ophthalmologist. I'll call around. Thanks for the advice.

I'm certainly not a vet and unable to diagnose, but as a matter of opinion and in my experience in both wet and dry, his eyes do have the fip look that some will get.

I've seen this more-so in dry form of fip.

Hope not, and lots of vibes that it is not.

FIP is so awful and unfair :(

@catwoman707   that's pretty much what the rescue said as well. That coupled with the fever and no weight gain, lethargy, and other symptoms they pretty much seem set on it being fip. They were helping me with vet bills but I think just for my own piece of mind I will make one more appointment just to make sure everything has been discussed... also maybe ask if she needs pain meds or any anti inflammatory? I understand what will probably happen but i guess I just will feel better for myself if I still try to help her for as long as I can.

I completely understand that one, what a helpless feeling it is to have to wait and see..........

Wishing you lots of good luck. Not easy being a rescuer, I know.

I am so sorry.  FIP is a horrible disease.  They don't even really understand how or why it develops in some kitties and doesn't develop in most kitties.
