Petsmart - Black Friday - Anyone Get the Free Ornament?

According to several Black Friday websites, Petsmart was supposed to give out free Paw Print ornaments to the first 100 shoppers. They didn't have these in my local Petsmart. Did anyone here get one of these ornaments? They did give out the free movie rental ticket or whatever that was (not important to me). They also had a $5 off coupon for the first 100 shoppers.

I was really disappointed because the last two years they gave out free Christmas stockings filled with cat and dog treats and coupons. This year totally sucked. I think it's messed up to advertise a free ornament and to not even have it. They also had very limited stock of certain items and when I say limited I mean two. They only had two bags of the advertised Cat Chow - 16 lbs. for $9.99. My strays really go through that so I was planning on buying four bags. I got the first two and they never restocked. I went back later on my way to another store and not only had they not restocked it, they were taking down the price stickers. This was around 6:30 pm.

They've really gone downhill in the last year. I don't even think I got my $5 bonus bucks for making a purchase of over $35. They never even gave it to me last year either. I don't even bother shopping there anymore.

I think it varies by store and the availability. I'm sorry you didn't get your ornament though, maybe they ran out by the time you got there?

I went after work and they were out of Tidy Cats :/. I mean, I don't expect them to still have any items left that late but they had so much litter on hand that I thought there would at least be a few buckets left. I asked the checkout lady and she said it was wild that morning---they had even ordered extra, they had several pallets of it (and I was there a few days before---the entire rear area of the store was full of Tidy Cats buckets) but they ran out by 1 pm! She said that's never happened before. I did buy some canned Friskies. . .they only had Indoor Cat Chow left and since I would be buying it for the ferals I didn't think low-calorie food was a good idea. I also bought a couple boxes of Nature's Miracle litter because it was on sale. I hope the cats approve .

I had them ring it up in 2 transactions so I would get a $5 coupon on both receipts, but the first one didn't print a coupon. So I thought "oh well, maybe that offer ended already" so I didn't say anything. But then the coupon printed on the 2nd receipt! So I asked them why the first one didn't get a coupon and nobody knew why, so the manager gave me a handwritten note to be used as a $5 coupon. . .I hope they don't give me any trouble when I try to use it.

Somebody said that our PetSmart ordered an extra 2,000 pails of Tidy Cats....and they were completely sold out with an hour. People were hauling huge mill carts out of our store, completely loaded down with pails. 20-30 at a time.

They gave Rick and I each a $5 coupon and we were able to use both of them for our order, so that gave us $10 extra off.

I got that Grinch hat at Petco. I'll probably have an easier time getting it on myself than any of the cats 

We popped in and out. It was mid-morning and the shelves were pretty much cleared. We didn't even really shop because it was so packed, we just grabbed what we needed. I did have to talk hubby out of buying a ferret[emoji]128580[/emoji].

Today was happy dance Sunday for me in Petco for sure. They sent me an email last Saturday that offered 5x rewards dollars for online orders so I ordered some Soulisitc Good Karma and a case of Wellness sliced chicken. They never ended up giving me the 5x rewards dollars. So on Thursday I opened up an online chat and went back and forth with the rep. Finally after I emailed him the order confirmation email and the original offer email, he agreed I had met the conditions and he'd make sure I had the rewards dollars within 24 hours. We'll see, I thought

Friday night comes and I get an email from them about my rewards dollars. I go to print the coupons and there are NINE of them. Nine $5 coupons!! I was expecting 4. 1 I had already earned and 3 more. I don't know how he managed that one but he put me through the ringer before he finally agreed I was right and maybe felt bad. I printed those babies up today along with some manufacturer coupons and went shopping for this haul

Four  5.5 ounce cans of Science Diet chicken chunks in gravy (had 2 BOGO coupons) these are for the Christmas box for the shelter kitties

Fifteen 3 ounce cans of Nutro - assorted flavors, textures

Ten 3 ounce cans of Merrick- Poultry based pates with 3 cans of Grammy's Pot Pie. It's been out of the rotation a while. We'll see if they eat it.

Two 15 pound pails of Purina Pro Plan litter. They had it on sale for $9.99 and I had a coupon for $10 off 2. Not that I need litter after the Petsmart black Friday haul but don't we ALWAYS need litter?

$20.04 for 43 cans of food and 30 pounds of litter!
