Hi I'm new to this forum thing so sorry if I muck it up , my cat was due to be spayed and two days before the op she didn't cone home so waited and waited about a month later ( she was gone long enough I thought I'd have to break the news to the kids she had passed away ) low and behold she comes waddling home looking at us like " what I haven't done anything " and obviously pregnant now that was a few weeks Ago now she has her box , blanket ,quiet room and dirt box as I won't risk letting her outside now till the baby's are here and this morning I noticed clear movement of the baby's she's a bit off her food not even wanting milk which she's a pig for and just wants to be around us all the time Shea even all over the dog I'm very nervous as all my animals are USUALLY fixed there's no milk yet but the bits behind the nipples are puffing up ? I'm so nervous if that's not obvious already does anyone know how long to go , thanks

You should not let the mother outside until after the babies are weaned, and even then not until she is spayed.  She can get pregnant again right away.

It's great that she has her own quiet space away from people and other animals to have her kittens.  She will need that for the first few weeks.

You can usually see kittens moving 2-3 weeks before delivery, so she's nearing the end.  You can start feeding her kitten food and let her have as much as she wants so she gets all the nutrition possible.

You might want to take her to the vet for a check up to make sure she didn't catch anything while outside.  Also a good idea to check for fleas before she has the babies.

Hi thanks yes she is booked to be spayed on her flank so kittens can still feed without hurting her she had also been in kitten food for the last 3 weeks and was flea'd and wormed 3 days ago she's had a check up and everything is fine but with out a scan which vet said wasn't really nessaceryunless we wanted to know how many as gestation couldn't be accurate so we decided against it as the cost out weighed the need

I have never heard of spaying a cat that way. It's safe to spay her normally when the kittens are 8 weeks old and weaning. She can still nurse them after.
