Greetings. I need some help with this. When I wake up in the morning I find 12 week old Boots laying on the bed looking at me.

As soon as I move my hand he jumps and bites my and jumps back like he wants me to catch him. Or he bites my and and hand then grabs it and starts kicking with his rear legs. At first it is a nip. Then it is a quick firm bite. We now have two sets of sheets with blood stains from some of his bites (my blood).

It seems as tho this is his wake up play period. Seems to love to wrestle and scurry around the bed. When I get up he pretty much settles down and runs to the food bowl to wait for his canned food (one spoon in the morning).

How do I get him to stop this A.M. biting? The rest of the day he bites only when we start playing kinda rough.

Don't allow him to play with your hands ever. Distract him with other toys.

Also, I wonder if he is getting hungry overnight? One spoonful of food doesn't sound like enough for a kitten. Could you leave him dry food to eat throughout the night?

No, no, no. LOL. His dry dish stays full. He gets the 4health grain free canned food only in the morning. It takes him a few hours to eat a heaping spoon full.

He just wants to play. I would get one of those fishing rod type toys and tuck it under your pillow, so when he gets "that look" in the mornings, you can play with him--at a slight distance.
