I didn't make turkey since it was just me, my 18 year old (who doesn't care for turkey) and Zeus (our kitten).

We had chicken cutlets and roasted potatoes instead. I gave Zeus a turkey Purely Fancy Feast and he gave me hugs and kisses!

My husband and my oldest had work in NJ so they stayed up there this year which means I did not have to do any crazy cooking

I usually give Zeus pieces of rotisserie chicken, when we have it and he LOVES that too. Just be careful, make sure there are no bones. Happy Thanksgiving

We have a 23-lb turkey with only three people. You bet the critters are getting some turkey.

Folks just gotta make sure to not give it to them if it's seasoned with things bad for them (like onion and garlic). I'm not sure if it seems into the meet if it's on the skin, but not sure I would chance it.

I thought we were being bad, 4 of us with a 15 pound turkey.  The kitties have gotten some and will continue to get some over the next several days.  I don't go crazy with the herbs or onion and garlic.  I just use melted butter, salt and pepper.  That is how it was made when I was growing up  and I continue with that.

I did get a pre brined turkey from Trader Joe's but they just use salt water for the brine.

Considering it was something we got for free (from our home association) we were sure it would be about 10 lbs and no-name brand. Nope, it was a 23 lb Butterball.

We do a salt-water brine also. Sara was more than happy to jump up on the counter and help with some of the skin when we turned our backs for a brief moment after it was taken out of the oven.

Yep, our gang gets a special plate of turkey & green beans on Thanksgiving!   I think it is only fitting to include your pets in the special holiday meal, they are indeed part of the family!  Even the stray cat who has made our porch his HQ gets a special plate

Edit:  I see others above have mentioned this - but for safety, make sure the cats don't get any bones!  I know the cooked bones are sharp and can splinter off.  Also make sure the meat isn't seasoned with anything other than butter - I know a lot of pre-made marinades have onion & garlic powder, which isn't good for the kitties....

They'll probably be eating turkey leftovers with us over the next few days - but it's never as good as it is on the very FIRST night!

I completely forgot to grab leftover turkey to take home to the cats. :doh2: So they settled for Turkey Primal instead. Poor things! :lol3:

Just gave my Sara a sneak preview of her meal because she needs to take her antibiotic with food. She (no pun intended) gobbled it up so fast! Looking forward to feeding all four of them and watching them feast

Oh Thanksgiving Day

An excuse to stuff yourself

Regrets tomorrow

I had a braised pork sirloin steak and gave some to The Ladies. No turkey for any of us today.

Sara and Oliver just ate this stuff like there was no tomorrow. Omg.

Oscar ate some of it, but he didn't seem all that wowed by it.

Maple wanted to eat it, and had a few bites, but if you look at her wrong she gets all skittish and runs away. I think one of the kittens got into her field of vision and she took off for the chair. I told her no, she's not getting fed in the chair.

Had a piece for the
Luckman earlier. He would have loved this stuff. He thoroughly enjoyed chicken and turkey more than anything else.

There was 3 of us with a 9 pound ham and a 5 pound turkey breast. The kids definitely got some turkey.

I didn't give my cats turkey meat, but I did give Monet some of the gizzards for dinner. He loved it. Cassie wasn't thrilled about it so she got her usual canned food, turkey flavored. Monet has a few more meals of the gizzards he can enjoy still

I put a small piece of turkey breast in my cats bowl last night. I didn't see who ate it but Rose refused her Friskies canned this morning. I hope I don't make her finicky!

Hahaha! I love that! That is how my Maple is - she's the Decadent One.

More turkey for Sara this morning for her pre-antibiotic meal. Gobble gobble. And not worried about them not eating their food, thankfully. The kittens of course wanted some, I'm getting very good at keeping them at bay. I'll give them some later.

~Sigh~ I tried.  As usual, Ms. "Finicky Britches I Only Eat Premium Kibbles" took one sniff and walked away.
