Is my cat a specific breed?

I was told Mya is a Snowshoe when I was given her from my sister in law, but I looked at pictures online and I do not agree. She has blue eyes  andpatter

Nay, snowshoe is a bi-color pattern for points, including white feet.

Yours is a lynx point.    I suppose somebody got the words mixed up.

Point is caused by the point gene from both parents.  The parents, if they were "just" carriers, could themselves have any looks.

That point gene comes from siamese, but the siamese ancestor could be very far back.  A granddad, or perhaps 60 generations back...

There is another point gene, the burmanese gene, but its rare. Not unique but rare.   Points carrying the burmanese gene are darker on body, and the eyes usually not so bluish.
