Clindamycin dosage

I brought my old kitty to the Vet to have her mouth checked after seeing her pawing at it. She had a bit of redness in the back and was prescribed Clindamycin. I should add she has only her front fangs as the others have either fallen out or had removed.

The dosage prescribed is .5ml twice a day. The circular and information on the web indicate once a day dosage. I asked the Vet about this and was told it was because of her small size - 6 lbs. I don't want to second guess the Vet but want what is best for the kitty.

If anybody can verify a similar prescribed dosage, it would greatly ease my concern.

It sounds like the vet is spreading out the full dose over the course of the day so that your kitty's system isn't overwhelmed with a full dose all at once.  If you're concerned, I'd call the vet back and discuss it with him/her again or ask if you should just give her that amount once daily and extend the course of antibiotics.
