Last time i saw my cat, Hasler, was on nov 5. I fed him and he was very excited. After that instant, i never had a sight of him again. It is painful for me because i raised Hasler since he was a kitten and hes about to turn 3 y.o on march next year. I created a bond with him. More than anyone of my former cats.

Every lunch i let him in our home and sit beside me. I miss that. He has access outdoors but just as i open our screendoor, when he hears the door squeaks and my call, he runs fastly to greet me and ask for food..or just simply play or cuddle with him. In short he is well taken care of. I live in a subdivision. No predators could prey on them. Plus when he is outside he is agile enough to be picked by random people. Even i couldnt touch him when he is outside. He is neutered btw. But been growling for some time and very clingy before he was missing.

I asked my neigbors if they saw him. One said that she saw hasler a day after i first looked for him. That is when he was missing for a day. But after that..:sigh: the same neighbor told me she didnt see hasler again. And its been 2 weeks now. Im worried. He usually comes back every now and then and just strolls nearby. But this is different. No sign of him at all. Is there still a chance he will come back? Should i keep on hoping? He is like my little brother. Thats how much i love hasler.

cats can definitely come back after longer than 2 weeks. Is he microchipped? I assume you've checked all the local pounds and shelters? I'm sorry you've lost your kitty. I do hope he shows up.

Hi. Thanks for saying cats come back even after 2 weeks. It really helps.

Anyway, in my country, pounds and shelters isnt common. We dont have t in our town. And he is not microchipped. His colar broke and the day im looking for his new collar.

Also i have other 2 older cats and they do not like Hasler. They hiss at him and stay away at the house for a couple of distance to avoid him. But visible enough tho. I pet them outside home because they like it but otherwise when theyre inside. It has something to do with halser being around.

Anyway now that hasler's missing these 2 older cats are pulling a maintstay bum in our home. As if happy that hasler's presence is gone. Do you think guys it is possible they prevent hasler from coming back or worse made him go away?

I just found my cat Sophie after she had been missing for 6 weeks.

If Hasler has been out before he will know the neighbourhood and be able to hunt.  Even if the others chased him off he might not have gone that far.

Just keep looking for him. Put up some posters so that people know there is a missing cat. If anyone sees him they might call you.

Good luck, I hope he comes home soon.

Someone who had seen my lost cat posters spotted her and gave me a call. She was about a mile and a half from here. I don't think she knew where she was. She's lost a lot of weight, but she's doing OK now. Actually, I thought she might be dead and so I started a thread in her memory.

Don't give up.

Sophie was gone for six weeks, another female cat, Mia was gone for almost a month. Gin kun and Lizzie were both gone for 10 days. All of my cats have outdoor access, but they can't get out of their fenced-in enclosure. Like most outdoor cats, if something happens to displace them from their territory it can be difficult for them to get back.

Maybe Hasler was chased by something and ended up further from home than usual? If that happened his instinct would be to hunker down where he is, wait until he feels safe and then slowly circle out from that safe space until he finds something familiar to lead him back home.

First thing you should do is make some Lost Cat posters. The ones that will get the most attention will be something like,

Reward.

For any information

leading to the recovery of

Lost Cat Hasler.

Include a recent picture of him and your phone number. You don't need to say how much the reward is, you can decided that when you get Hasler back.

You can look for him by going to the edge of his regular territory and making a circle around the area he usually stays in. You need to stay in one place for about five minutes. Call him and give him chance to show himself. Walk a little further, stop and do the same. Make sure you circle back to the original spot about 30 ~ 60 minutes later. If he's scared he won't show up straight away. He needs time to make sure it is really you. Keep making bigger and bigger circles, going further away from his territory.

You need to look in the same places over and over again. Sophie was in a place I'd checked at least ten times. Mia was in a lane I'd walked down calling her every day since she'd got out. It's just a case of getting them confident enough to come out of hiding.

Good luck, I really hope you find him.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. Btw, did your cats get skinnier when they were hiding? I mean how did they eat? Hunting maybe?

Most cats will loose weight when they go missing, but will hunt some too.

The fact that Hasler is used to going outside is massively in his favour. He knows the area, and almost certainly knows how to hunt too. He won't go totally hungry.

I really hope you find him soon :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

I hope you find the little guy, and don't lose hope. I put out my cat's litter box so he could smell his way home. Leave out water and food if you can. Also if he is scared look for him at night when things are more silent and not so much action is happening.

Check out these sites they have good ideas

Yes, they were all skinnier. I live in the middle of a forest so there is plenty of prey around, but having to hunt for themselves sure slimmed them down a lot.

Are there any places near you where stray and feral cats hang out? That would be a good place to look for Hasler. Cats congregate near a food source, places where restaurants leave the trash or any place people feed cats. If he's fending for himself he might head for a place like that

Well i live in a subdivision so houses are mainly here. He usually hangs in my neighbors but he is nowhere in sight. He likes tablr food and cat food. But since he is away wonder if he feeds himself mice. Hmm. Dont they contain virus or what and dangerous when eaten by my cat?

Do you have a neighborhood trash area where everyone takes the trash out to be collected? That's a good place to put up lost cat posters as every household will see them. Also a good place to look for your cat, early in the morning before everyone else is up.

There is a rsik that a cat could get poisoned if he eats a rodent that has eaten rat poison. Other than that the main prob;em is worms, but they can be easily treated with a good wormer. (one from the vet, not an over-the-counter one.)

Dont give up hope about a month and a half ago this beautiful dilute calico showed up in back of my house. I fed her when I seen her I even found her a home but they brought her back after two days. Then on a whim I posted to a site called PetFBI. After a few days someone contacted me. It turns out she was 15 years old and was almost 5 miles away from home. She had been missing for two months.

This was her.

I think if he was going to come back on his own he would have done so by now. Your best chance of finding him is to go out and look for him. He might be a few miles away, like the cat @Louann Jude  was looking after was.

Are there Lost Pet internet sites that cover the country you live in? Putting up posters, asking neighbours and contacting local shelters will all help. The more eyes you have looking for him the better.

You can contact Vet Clinics they will take down information  get in touch with you Asap if he turns up.  In Canada, assuming they offer this where ever you are. Sometimes cat rescues will assist with trying to find missing cats.  Posters, banging on doors handing out contact info. Place posters inside coffee shops/ laundromats stores/gas stations as well. Hope you get some news!

Weird. Because he was allegedly seen by the neighbor on the first or second day he was missing. But not after that since then. Also..there arent really cat lovers aroun my subd that will adopt a full grown cat (while the fact that hes too agile to capture on streets).

Actually i really dont know what to think of what couldve happened to him why he is away...
