Does anyone else have a stocking for their furbaby? And is it weird to celebrate their birthdays? The birthday is just home made cat treats and a cat tree
I have always had a stocking for my pets, I never really celebrated their birthdays though.
However, now that my boys are older and I am slowly becoming "crazy cat lady" since I spend more time with my 6 month old kitten I will most likely start celebrating his birthday
I have Tiger's (RIP) stocking, which I will now use as my own. Yes, my parents still fill my brother and my stockings even though we're adults with little stocking stuffers such as candy, gift cards, dvds etc.
Miagi & Angel share a stocking. The dogs also share one. But some stuff doesn't fit in the stocking I will just wrap it (treats, toys etc.) And now my brother's dog will have a stocking from me. I just have to write his name on it with glitter glue! I also celebrate their birthdays, they get a new toy and treats.
Side note: It doesn't mean that Tiger meant more than the others... it is just a limited edition stocking my mom got for him one year when they were on sale.
Also, it doesn't make you crazy to spoil your pets. They're meant to be spoiled!
oh yes! my snick and jaspurr have their own stockings. our jaspurr has only been with us for one Christmas so far, this will be his second. snick has enjoyed Christmas with me since she was a kitten, so she knows Christmas and gets very excited (cries out in excitement) when i bring out her stocking on Christmas morning.
we celebrate birthdays here too! both cats get gifts on both of their birthdays, as well as on my birthday. i always feel it's better for both cats to receive gifts, so there isn't any 'fighting' over gifts.
My cats are definitely getting stockings this year. This is my first Christmas in my new house, and I'm so excited to have a fireplace to hang stockings. I think I'm going to order some personalized ones off Etsy with their names on them.
If I remember, they get an extra treat on their 'birthdays'--not that I really know any of the actual dates of their birthdays, they're all SPCA rescues.
I don't celebrate birthdays but my cats do have a stocking for toys. They are especially fond of the crocheted otopus toys stuffed with catnip. Also, my sister and I always include toys for each other's cats when we mail our gifts to each other. I have 3 senior girls and she has 7 young boys. I guess we're both a bit of a crazy cat lady.
My cats used to get stockings but I would put catnip toys in and Mac would do all sorts of gymnastics to get them down! Also Sasha, who was abandoned when she was young and spent some time living outdoors before we rescued her, climbs the tree and brings it down over and over again... So for awhil, my husband said no more Christmas stuff! But it's all coming back out this year.
I had a stocking for Robin in 2013, but I had to throw out all my Christmas stuff--all but one item--last year, and I do not have money to replace anything thus far. A stocking would be great. We will see. He would like it, if there were catnip in it. I just can't get into the spirit right now, having not seen my family since the spring, and now not even for Thanksgiving. I understand. I was homeless for a year and my family abandonded me. I have just now got disability, and an apartment and Comet is my one and only love. He's my therapy cat.......he keeps me sane when the PTSD and host of other trauma based illnesses threaten to beat me down.
