So my poor baby has pink eye in both eyes, and was running a fever. Saw the vet today, he got a antibodic shot and also these two meds. He takes the ointment 3 times a day and the oral meds once a day, is this too much? Seems like crazy extreme to me.. Please give me your input. I want my baby to get better but all these meds might harm him.. Also when should I start giving probiotics? I usually give probiotics after antibodic treatment, but he got a shot, not sure how long that keeps the meds in his system.

It is not unheard of for a Vet to give more than one antibiotic at a time, depending on what is wrong.  It sounds like possibly a very bad case of pink eye for them to do this?

Anyway, as far as the probiotic, I would give it at least a couple of hours before or after giving the oral medication.  For instance, if you give the oral med in the am, then why not give the probiotic in the evening, or vice versa?

The Convenia is supposedly good for 2 weeks, so you might want to ask your Vet is giving a probiotic would be harmful with it.  I really don't think so, I googled and couldn't find any evidence to the contrary.

How's your baby doing today...any better?

The neopoly drops will help lubricate the eye and treat the infection in the eye and will help lubricate the eye.  The azithro is a high powered antibiotic that will treat the infection in the body.  I'm not sure why you were given the azhithro in conjunction with the convenia, but read up on Convenia side effects and watch for your kitty to develop any.  Convenia can stay in the system for weeks.

As for probiotics, I'd give them twice a day while on an antibiotic.
