I first noticed Peaches in my back yard three months ago. She was tiny and about six months so I fed her. Over the time she began to show up to my front door and even walk inside. At one point i closed the door and she freaked out so I let her back out. It snowed for the first time yesterday and she approached me meowing when i shoveled the drive. I put food down for her inside and she started eating. I closed the door and she was startled but settled in on the couch and wont move.

I have a cat and dog in my house who I don't want to interact with the cat until she is vaccinated. I left the cat alone for a few hours on the couch but now I don't know if I should let her back out or bring her into my room and begin fostering her. I have fostered a cat and newborn kittens before, but I am not sure if I should do the same with Peaches. She still hasnt moved from the couch and I even opened the door to let her out, but she refused to move from the couch. So I am leaving her alone, but another feral cat came up to my window and started calling for Peaches. I've seen this cat around before but never around Peach. I do not know if I should let the kitten outside to go back to her colony and family or if I should just take her in and begin fostering her. She is anywhere between nine months and a year.

Please try to keep her inside.  Give her a room of her own with a litter box and some food/water.  Make sure the room is pretty cat proof so that she will not hide under a bed where you cannot retrieve her.  If there is a bed in the room, lay it flat on the floor or pick it up.  Under  a bed is a sure place a cat will run to hide.  Also watch for behind or under large furniture.

Next, make a vet appt. for her.  She needs vaccines as well as being spayed.  There is a chance she is already pregnant.  This should be done ASAP.

Keep her confined to her own room until she is vet checked.  THen you can begin proper cat to cat intros.  Just be sure she is spayed and then will only be an indoor cat.  She seems pretty comfy on your couch.

As for the feral, any chance you can help him/her?  It may just be a stray too.  At least check to see if the cat is spayed/neutered.  The problems continue as the cats continue to breed.  Spaying/neutering is the answer.

Thank you for helping Peaches.  I hope that you can keep her inside.
