He hurt her, fur was flying, she won't come out of garage even though he is locked up. My father wants to put him down!

OK, no need to rush into any decisions!

Can you tell us exactly what happened? When did it happen? Maybe it is too soon for her to feel safe and come out of the garage.. Give her time.

Before diciding to euthanize a cat, your father should talk with a vet first.. To try and rationalize what happened..

I have had him for 5.5 years and could never commingle them. They are kept separate. We thought she was in garage when he came out of his room. He snuck up on her while she was quietly looking out window he jumped her and pulled hair out and attacked her as she fled. He is 3 times her size. My dad tried to break it up and got bitten. She was so scared I think she wet herself, now she is limping. He has no claws but is huge!

Poor thing.. I am so sorry this happened.. I can only imagine the stress she is under right now..

Look, if she's limbing you should take her to the vet and have them check her. Your male may have no claws (why is that??), but maybe he bit her?

I am sure you have tried to make them coexist, but have you done it the right way? Like, have you sought any professional assistance, or tried to take some advice from someone who has been in the same situation?

It is not easy to make two animals to get along. Especially if they didn't "hit it off" from the start.. But I do believe that if you stick to the effort, it might bear some positive results..

Males are too territorial and it's not easy to make them change their minds. Especially if they are aware of their size..
But that's no reason for him to be euthanized, just for behaving like a ... cat! This is a textbook behavior for a male cat. He knows she's there. He can smell her. He can hear her. He knows that this is the cat he didn't get along from the start, so this was an accident waiting to happen. Even if you kept them separated for so long..

It's also not fair for your female to live under so much stress..

I would highly recommend you to visit the vet, with your dad, so a professional can explain to your dad that this was a normal behavior, although it was an ugly one. Are they at least both vaccinated properly? Do you think there's a chance that your female has any contaminated wounds?

I am sorry if I'm "babbling" but there's so much to take under consideration in a case like this..

There is no way I would put him down. He used to attack everyone and draw blood with claws and bite, it was declaw or euthanize 4 years ago, I was given an ultimatum. He has always been a loose cannon. Both my cats were feral, he was 5 weeks old when I rescued him in a rainstorm. He never learned the social graces, he is a real badass! He wanted to be friends with her years ago, she would hiss and swat at him with claws. He got big and decided he hates her! We rotate them, he is let out of his room and she goes into garage, they can no longer be trusted together. No one would want him he bites, my elderly dad is afraid of him! I am afraid I am stuck with him

Please, don't feel like you are stuck with him.. I know the feeling, but if you deal with him the way you should, all of this will be corrected.

I had the same problem. My cat sent my mother to the hospital. He injured her pretty badly.. But I did the best I could to reform him and it happened!

I researched, read articles, watched videos till my eyes got watery and red! But I found the solution..

5 years ago, there were not so many articles and videos available on the internet, that you could use in order to have some info, or feedback on the problem.

Now it is different.. There are all sorts of articles, even on this site that deal with both of your problems.. Your male's aggression and how to get them to get along.. This is a site that literally contains everything. I would recommend you to take a look around. There are so many of us that have dealt with issues like yours..

Believe me, you are not alone

Cats can make really scary noises when they fight and fur can fly. Have you been able to examine her to see if she's actually injured?

Are they spayed and neutered? This can make cat drama much worse!

@bonepicker   you are sure she is still IN the garage hiding.. right? There is no way she fled the garage, out of fear, at a point when the garage door was open, for instance...? Can you at least hear her?

Is there a way for you to reach her hiding spot? Or is she somewhere impossible to reach?

She finally came in from the attached garage. She seems ok, she gave me the dirtiest look. I think she feels I let her down somehow!

So glad you were able to get a hold of her!

I think YOU feel you let her down..
Which is understandable.. Anyone would feel like that.. I think she gave you a look that stated how much she disliked what happened.. And to complain maybe..

Nevertheless, I think it's safer that a vet takes a look at her.. Just to rule out the possibility of her being injured and concealing it..

In addition, my opinion is that you really should seek some advice and help, on how to make the 2 cats get along.. I know it may seem too much and I know there is a slight possibility it might not work. But it's worth to at least try in the right way.

Most people just "throw" 2 cats together and expect them to get along. I used to think so myself! Well, it's not true. It takes effort, time, devotion and determination.. Oh! And patience!

I am not implying that you "threw" them together and then gave up.. I am sure you tried hard at the beginning. But 5 years later, there's so much more information about this matter and I think you can use it to your advantage
I believe you'll feel better when you'll be able to keep them in the same place at the same time, than the stress you undergo each time you have to separate them.

Don't you think?
