After 21 days of crying each day and Bro being upset over losing Peebo on October 27th 2015 recently

we started searching for a female kitten all over the internet that was white with black spots

because I had never been able to choose a cat, I always adopted what came in our yard out of the woods

or from someone else that was elderly and could not take care of their cat anymore..

I walked into the humane society shelter and looked in 2 rooms and in the 3rd room the young lady

took this cat out...She was timid and scared out of a small cage in a room..

I got her home and bought her a large dog top paw crate to hold a bed and a litter pan and she can see out

all sides of it..

She has been with us 2 days and last night she had me laughing she ran up my floor length curtains to the top

and then tried to swing on the lights..she did not...of course....She loves it here, Bro is fine with her

and she had taken some of my grief over Peebo from me and the rest of us....

She is all I could ask for in a cat..beautiful, intelligent, playful, loving and entertaining..

She will get all the love she could ever want here in our home...

Thank you to those who posted sympathy ...over Peebo..

I am including his picture ..he was the 24 lb grey tabby 9 year old male

I raised from a kitten when he was found under a shrub one hot summer day

at my home in the country...

She's so pretty! [emoji]128149[/emoji]. What a lucky girl she is to find such a good home. And I'm so glad she's helping with your grief over Peebo. Have you named her yet?

sherit sherit Ivy is such a beauty, markings are striking! I love her tail, the tip is white. :D Congrats on the new family member. :hugs:

I recently adopted a new dog (2 mos ago) also a black and white lady we named Ivy [emoji]128149[/emoji]. She too came into our lives and helped lighten our home from the grief of loosing an adored companion. They are never replaced and we know that but I think it does give your heart a break and honors our fur friend who is waiting at the bridge. :)

Ivy is also a knock out! Such beautiful spots on that fur! I am glad Bro is getting along with her. She sure needs a good loving home, finally, after all that waiting in the shelter

News alert!

new name!!!

I kept calling the new cat Ivy which is beautiful

and out came the name Lily...

Lily was what I  had on my mind before I even

picked out the new girl cat...

So I am going with Lily..

which has a beautiful meaning to the name

and she has a lot of white on her and she

is elegant to me...

So here is Lily...

thank you all for your kindness and your post!

Bro's anxiety is no better with her here for 3 days..

He slept with me last night and I would wake up and he was sitting upright

12 inches from my face looking at me..................

He is 8 years old and wants to stay outside at night as he did for

warm nights... I never had let cats in the bedroom but I guess now

I will put a sheet over the bedspread and me and let both of them

eventually sleep on the bed with me..

I have ordered another calming collar for Bro and will do a review when I get it this week...

Purchasing a shelter cat/rescue  a new cat and dealing with Bro and Peebo's

death have been taxing emotionally and also financially..

We all understand that...

Love

Peebo was a handsome guy, and I know you miss him, and always will.

Lily...OH THAT FACE!  I can't help but giggle.  Her nose blaze makes her look so comical!  What a joy of a cat!

Thank you Mamany1953 and others

Lily has become a wild child after being in our home for 3 days...

She is climbing my pretty curtains and I had to get her a newspaper

and roll it up and start the NO process teaching..........

She is full of energy and when she was in the small crate at the shelter

she was timid and I thought this kitten is going to be way too

tame for me...

I do love her markings!

Bro is worse he wants to go outside at night every night and being in bed with me is not stopping

the loud meowing for over 22 nights and now in daytime too..

We are worn out from it..

I get his new calming collar in the mail wed and that goes on him and I will do a review on it.

Her markings are identical white streaks on each side on each cheek same width and length

and she has white on t he forehead which I like and a totally white belly..and feet

Gold green eyes so far...

White ball on the end of her tail...

Her mother was mostly black with one streak of white ,.she was at Petsmart to be adopted...

Lily was at the humane shelter rescue house 10  miles away..Thanks SheriT

Congratulations Sheri!  Lily looks like a sweetheart.  I am so glad she is making you feel better, but unfortunately wonder if it was just too soon for Bro. He's been through so many changes in his little world in such a short time, losing Peebo, his outside Independence, for his own safety, & now a new kitten in his home. I really hope the calming collar helps him feel better. You know me, I don't say this to upset you, I'm just thinking from Bro's angle. I hope he will settle soon & find comfort in Lily as a new sister to snuggle with.
