I have three potential adopters for my kitten.  I cannot make a decision, which makes me think I should just keep him.  Family #1 seems great, but they have 2 dogs and a cat already.  Family #2 has two cats and seem to adore cats, but they live in a shady neighborhood.  I worry if the kitten would ever get outside accidentally.  Family #3 also loves cats, but they have 2 males, and my kitten is a male.  I really hit it off with the mom, but she said one of her cats is sometimes a brat.  I really don't know how to decide this.  This kitten is so wonderful, he deserves the best.

I know you can't enforce it but you could try stating that you have a kitten contract that the kitten will go to an indoor home only (as far as the shady neighbourhood family goes).

Does your kitten get along with other cats? What is it about the first family that bothers you? The number of pets or the dog or just gut instinct?

I agree that a male going to a house with only 2 other males *might* be a problem, only because I have a male cat who can be a bit of a "brat" (read aggressor) and while he mostly gets along with his sister that we have for him now, when he had a brother in the past it didn't go so well.

If your instincts are telling you none of these families are the one you want for this kitten though I would go with that (whether you keep him or find a whole other family for him is up to you and your family).

You really need to go with your gut.  If something doesn't feel right then they most likely are not the right family.

Try interviewing more people.  Also, are you charging a fee for him?  You want serious adopters.
