It's not clear whether you are looking for a special diet for a cat with liver disease, or if you have a cat with liver disease who is refusing to eat. I cannot helpyou with the dietary requirements but you could find help by searching "diet for liver disease" in the search bar at the top of the page, right under the brown bar. That should take you to several threads discussing diet.
If you have a cat with liver disease who is not eating, the only solution is the E-tube, a feeding tube that goes into the cat's esophagus. It is not radical and is actually well tolerated and saves lives. Here are two articles about them. The first is general and also includes a link to the second, written by a veterinarian, which is technical and includes x-rays but is also very informative and includes a case study of how the tube saved this cat's life.
Did you try baby food yet? You're looking for anything to get calories in, right? Baby food is a good stop gap (just make sure it's only meat, or meat and rice), but eventually he'll need to get back on a cat food with added taurine. Fortiflora as a topper to stimulate the appetite can help too, or whatever his favorite treat is.
I know this thread is almost a year old but I was wondering about the same dietary suggestions, too. My 17 yr old cat was just diagnosed with Cholangiohepatitis and liver disease. He basically has a bacterial infection and was prescribed antibiotics and prednisolone. I've had to force feed him high calorie prescription a/d wet food and I can tell he doesn't like the food. It's going on the third day and he is slowly eating on his own.
My question: Since I don't want to hurt his liver any more than it's damaged, what wet foods are good? I am trying to get calories in him and he seems to like cooked chicken breast and loves tuna. However, are these foods harmful for a liver that is trying to heal? I can't seem to find any research on this. And I know dry food is bad long term but would it work for temporary measures to get him eating more on his own? He usually eats mostly a wet food diet but he does love his "crunchies" that I will sprinkle on his morning food. (And that's the only time.) It's the Instinct chicken dry food that is 14% carbs, one of the lowest carb dry foods on the market. (By the way, he has tested negative for hyperthyroidism and doesn't have kidney issues or diabetes)
