Worried about Tramadol side effects?

Hi I'm new to this site and my cat was also prescribed tramadole. She is 16 with a slightly elevated alt liver value and she is already taking Gabapentin which may be giving her a bit of relief! I live in the New York area so getting the medication compounded was quite simple, and the tramadole and the Gabapentin are benign to the liver but the side effects of the tramadole scare me!!! The Gabapentin seems to have no side effects. I guess I'm looking for advice or support if there is any out there? Thank you all so much.

Hello and welcome to the site! I'm sorry no one replied sooner, you must be besides yourself with worrying. Tarmadol is a painkiller and I didn't quite get why the vet prescribed that? Maybe you can tell us more about the cat and the medical issue? 

Generally speaking, every medication has potential side effects. Manufacturers are required by law to specify all adverse reactions ever reported following use of the drug but this doesn't mean they are likely to happen when we use them. Is there any specific side effect that worries you?
