I am so thankful to have Asha in my life. She always looks after me with snuggles and cuddles when I'm not feeling well, and follows me everywhere to make sure I don't get into trouble. She's a one-in-a-million little girl :heart3:  :heart3:

I got Lilith and Sophie after DH passed away and my DD went off to college. It was just me and the dog in the house. She was a daddy's girl and took the loss very hard. When I got the girls from the shelter, they brought so much light into the house. I had planned the introductions and everything was going to go perfectly. Yeah right. The night I brought them home, I got them settled in a safe room with everything they needed.

A couple of hour later, I went to check on them and as I was leaving, Lilith escaped the room and was now face to face with the dog. The dog looked at her, looked at me and her face just lit up. She had the biggest, goofiest ear to ear grin I ever saw. While I was making sure that she and Lilith would be OK, Sophie came out and that goofy grin just got bigger. They have been co-existing together very peacefully ever since. They never went back into the safe room again. When Henry came along, he and Bailey( the dog) became fast friends and are still pals now. Having the cats in the house helped bring the spark back to an old, sad dog.

I am thankful for The One Above, for allowing me to have Artie in my life.

I adopted him when I was at one of my lowest points in my life--after my dad died. My dad lived with me.

Artie sensed that I needed love. The first night he was here he began giving me unconditional love.

When I continued to have bad things happen to me, Artie was always there. He is the one constant in my life. He is always around me, especially when I am not feeling well or down in the dumps.

He makes me laugh, he loves me.

Artie is my constant companion; my buddy,.

When I broke my arm, he was always with me. When I had surgery, he was always on my lap. When I do not feel well, he is cuddling with me. He knows me. He talks to me.

I am so grateful for having him in my life.

But to tell you the truth, I think all the members here are thankful for their kitties...or they would not be here...Perhaps I over responded to the question...(as I always do) (sorry)

I guess to summarize: I am grateful for Artie's unconditional love.

I am so very thankful for my cat Noney.  He came to our family a stray.  He was cold and crying for food in our backyard one night.  After that night he belonged to us :))  The special thing about this story is that Noney came right at the time when my older cat Fluff ( 14yrs old ) was starting to fade :(  I knew the time for Fluff to leave us wasn't too far along and my heart was already starting to break.  When Fluff passed we were all so sad but with Noney being here it helped our hearts to heal.  Noney was a blessing to help fill the void in our hearts from the loss of Fluff :)  Fluff will forever be remembered :)  And we are all forever thankful for Noney!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thankful my cats guard my dreams. Let me explain what that means; I'm subject to horrible, terrible nightmares. For a long time simply going to sleep was a dreadful ordeal--which probably fed into the nightmares. For a while I was managing the nightmares with a forced positive attitude (it did work for a while), but they came back. When one of the nightmares started, Ra woke me up. The next time one started, Slipper woke me up. Now all the kitties guard my dreams!
This is Ra.

This is Slipper.

Isn't it amazing how cats enter our lives at just the right moment; even when we don't realize we need them at that time, they do and are here for us.

I am grateful for my cats for many, many reasons, but I will pick more specific things to post.

I am grateful for my cat Meko because in helping her, I felt more able to resolve something I felt guilty about for a long time. When I was 16, I found a stray cat near my house that had an injured leg. Wanting to do something to help but not having the money to take him to a vet or the ability to give him a home, I chased him around for twenty minutes, caught him, and took him to the Humane Society. I thought the Humane Society would get him vet treatment, but they said they didn't do that sort of thing. They would see what they could do themselves, but if it wouldn't heal on its own, they would put him to sleep. I left him there, and I still feel incredibly guilty about it. There was nothing else I knew to do at the time other than take him home and let him go. Even though I have absolutely no idea whether he lived or if they put him to sleep, I still feel like I killed him.

When I found Meko, she was another cat with an injured leg... and this time, I had the resources to do something about it, and I was going to do the right thing. It took three days of searching the park for her, but I finally caught her and got her treatment and arranged the surgery she needed to get her leg amputated. I planned to find her a good home after the surgery, but after my landlord surprisingly agreed to let me keep her, she became my new kitty. Although I still feel awful about the first cat, at least now I can honestly say I have learned something from the experience and was able to do better. I hope that he lived and was able to find a good home, I will never know for sure, but at least I can feel a little better that because of him, I was willing to help save another cat's life, and because of Meko, I was able to heal some of my guilt and pain.

I'm so thankful for my two cats Rose & Catness they are truely little balls of snuggles. We love watching Jackson Galaxy together! :D They wake me up in the morning wanting their can of Friskies. They have to taste test my coffee to make sure it's not poisoned. They greet all house guest to test their intentions. Rose knows pillows are not good for humans so she takes mine at night. Catness doesn't let the kids sneak food after dinner she says the kitchen is closed chasing them out trying to bite their feet.:rbheart:

I am thankful for Cricket for coming into my life when I had lost two precious kitties and was just devastated. Cricket is sweet, loving, friendly, playful, gets along with my heart kitty Swanie, and helped fill a void left by Cindy and Darcy (who I still miss so very much).

I'm thankful to all of my cats for forcing me to interact more with people and for forcing me to work harder on my Japanese.

I'm normally quite introverted, but because I was concerned about all the feral cats I saw when I first moved into this area I started talking to the neighbours in order to find out if they belonged to anyone. I started looking for shelters that might help me re-home some of the kittens, got in touch with a group in Tokyo that lent me a trap so I could start doing TNR and found a vet who agreed to spay and neuter any feral cats I caught.

Thanks to my cats I now have friends in the village that I probably wouldn't have had otherwise. I've also got a lot more fluent at Japanese. There's nothing like having a sick cat or a litter of abandoned kittens to care for to make you determined to be able to communicate.

My new cat Buster was feral 3 months ago. I spent time on the porch just waiting for him to eat a few kibbles and drink some water I left for him. Eventually, he began to trust me and we became friends. He now walks boldly into the house and eats from his own bowl. What I love about him is that he has become extremely affectionate and loves to lick my fingers after I pet him. He is such a loving cat.

I am thankful that my cat Lilith befriended me outside, around this time of year in 2013.    I had never considered myself a "cat person" in the past - in fact, I didn't really like cats all that much.

I saw her outside every time I took out the trash - she would come up for pets, then I'd go in & get some food to take back out to her.    This went on for a couple months, then on New Years Day of  2014, I opened the door for a pizza delivery and she, out of nowhere, just zoomed into the house through the front door.   And she's been here ever since

The first week she was in the house, she killed 2 mice, so it was easy for me & my husband to see  her value to the house and we decided to keep her.    It soon became obvious she was pregnant, and in March of last year, she gave birth to 2 boy kittens.    Now Lilith is kind of special because she's a female orange tabby - and both her boys were also orange tabbies - I swear they all looked like carbon copies of each other

I had been worried about finding homes for the kittens - I was expecting her to have anywhere from 4-7 kittens, but she only had two.........and as time went on, it was obvious that they all loved each other, so we decided to keep them all.     And I'm so glad that we did - they have all brought so much joy to the house during some real rough & stressful times for us.   I can't imagine life without them now & I'm so grateful that Lilith decided to be my friend and make our home hers also!
