I've had my kitten Soma for almost 2 weeks. She is 10 weeks old but she is very tiny! Due to her size I think she has a difficult time eating copious amounts of dry food, so I recently added kitten formula wet food to her daily meals and she loves it! I've always been under the impression that switching a cat or kittens dry food isn't good for them so I never switch the brand of dry food that I give to Nacho or Soma. I'm wondering if the same "rule" applies to wet food? I've been giving Soma different brands of wet food but I was wondering if I should just pick one and stick with it?

Wet food is really better for them than dry food, so i think it's a good thing! With dry food its good to switch or add new food slowly to avoid upsetting tummies. With wet food, its usually easier to switch or rotate brands/types without causing any upset. However, kittens have sensitive digestive systems and sometimes will get a little diarrhea. I think what you're doing is perfectly fine unless she starts having tummy issues with one brand of food. Many of us that feed wet rotate brands/flavors often to keep our cats from becoming bored with their food.

Feeding wet food is a great option. Very commonly young kittens are free fed dry food and are given several wet meals a day. This way, the kitten is able to eat whenever she's hungry and doesn't get fixated on only eating one type of food.[article="29721"][/article][article="29707"][/article][article="0"][/article][article="31089"][/article]
