Hi,
I have about 2-3 weeks kittens with their mom in my care for 3-4 days and I'm really worried. I can see the mom stimulating the kittens genitals sometimes, but when I check the box where they spend most of their time it's super clean each time. I see no trace of poo or smell urine. Is it normal? Is it possible that the mom licks all of the urine and poo while stimulating the kittens' genitals?
Thanks

Yes.  Its common its almost only caretakers of orphans whom "ever" do see poo.    A good mom takes usually care of it.  Thus, some breeders have hardly any experience of this little aspect. :)

Today, I found that the floor is wet near her butt where she was laying with her kittens. I touched the furr behind her to confirm it and it was indeed wet! Some days ago, I found some really wet sheet and didn't understand where it was coming from, I'm almost sure it was caused by her mom. Is it normal?

They are a few weeks old, correct? This is not normal and I would contact a vet ASAP.

There's two kittens about 2-3 weeks old. It's only clear liquid. She does eat drink and go to the litter.

It would be best to have her checked for infection by a vet. Unless it is pee I cannot think what it could be.

I know this is gross but have you smelled it to see if it is pee? She may be temporarily incontinent. I had a foster who could not control her bowel movements when her kittens were 2-3 weeks old. she regained it shortly after that.

Its surely a pee of some sort. The problem is its possibly not a regular pee, it may for example be some sort of kidney infection.

OR her becoming incontinent.  In both cases a  vet visit and bacteria control is wise.

I agree. To add to that, you should to wipe down the area that is wet on her to prevent urine scald as well. Hopefully it is just temporary incontinence. It's not common but I've learned from experience that it does happen. StefanZ how much experience do you have with incontinent cats? I could use some info

@fostersrule When you are asking someone a question you need to put the @  sign in front of the name so they get an email alerting them.  It will be blue ink, sometimes you have to try more than once.  @StefanZ

True.  But  qoting my post works in the same way, I get noticed in both variations.  When quoted I know even the question asked to me, so its really better.

Sorry,  I dont have that much extra information here.   In quite a few situations I play it by ear.  Its perhaps my years as a teacher which learned me to select the important info available, and to use it succesfully.

In a forum it works out nicely, as I always have at least several seconds to analyse and think up my reaction and my answer.

I finally got the chance bring the little family to the vet yesterday. I talked about the clear liquid thing, the vet asked if it was coming from the anus or the vaginal and if it is recurrent which I answered no for both and that was it.

They didn't do anything to find what was the liquid thing, but did lots of other thing which cost me 328$ for 3 cats (fvrcp & devorming for all 3, fevl/fiv test for the mom, earmites medication and consultation) which I don't know if it's a fair $, but I'm still happy with the services. :lol3:

This morning I found worms in the mom poop. I called them and they say it's not necessarily a bad thing. Yay!

Worms in the poop means a successful de-worming. Glad everything went well at the vet and your cat is healthy.

I don't understand about the clear liquid. You said it wasn't coming from either place? And the vet wasn't concerned?
