Posiepurrs, I was told by their breeder that they are silver tabbies because of not being a pure silver. They were actually an accident. She did not know her 9 month old boy was able to breed yet. Originally I only wanted a girl but none were available. I decided to get Prince. She was going to keep Princess. Then she decided to sell the girl and asked me if I wanted her too. So I got both. Where are you located? Here is a picture of the whole litter. Only one had orange in him (sitting by the pole).
What an absolutely adorable bunch they are. All kittens are adorable but IMO Persian kittens take adorable to a whole new level.

Kat, I could not agree more. Persian kittens are the most adorable. How can you not fall in love with them. Here is another Persian kitten. Her name was Lady Scarlett. She died 3 years ago. I got Prince and Princess a month after. I still miss my Scarlett. She was one in a million. I saw this picture on the net in 2002 and just fell in love. I had to have her. Here is her all grown up too. My 2 most favorite photos of her.

She was certainly a beauty. May she RIP. I'm sorry for your loss. Persians are very special cats indeed. I have 2 doll faced PWP (Persians without papers).

Lilith                                                                                                                                                                   Sophie (Lily's sister)

They were rescued from an abandoned house. Most likely a backyard breeder who left them and the rest of their family (about 20 in all) behind when they were foreclosed on. Their hair is very different. Lily's is long and silky. Sophie's is shorter and she looks more lion like when it grows in. She's in "full bloom" right now so she's my fluffball of love.  She's about 6 pounds but with all that fur, she looks much bigger. She had been groomed recently in that picture. This is "early bloom".
Lily is also very petite at about 5 pounds.

Your 2 Persians are adorable also. It is terrible that someone just left them. I am glad they were saved and 2 found a home with you. I had a black Persian also. He was my first Persian (1992-2002) and a very special cat. Everyone loved him. He used to lay on hallway floor with feet going in every direction. My late father used to wonder how he did that and called him Fuzzysnake. lol His name was Fuzzball (as in harmless little fuzzball lol). We also used to call him Grumpy as he always was. lol

Here is the another Persian I had. Her name was Sasha and she was a flame point HImalayan and Scarlett's mother. We got her 3 years after Scarlett. When she retired from breeding. She died a month before Scarlett. I was so heart broken when they both died so close together. I guess they had to be together. She has very silky fur and was so sweet and shy. My Princess is a lot like her. Scarlett took mostly after her father, a red and white.

He was very handsome!!

He looks a lot like Sophie except for the eyes. Her fur is very much like his. One of her nicknames is Saurus. My daughter called her Sophiesaurus one day and that got shortened to Saurus and it stuck. We also call her Kitten because under all that fluff, she's pretty small. Lilith is the alpha in our house and Sophie is her second in command.

They're all so beautiful.

Here's my Chinchilla, Forest.

We found him dumped in the woods, miles away from anywhere. I think some one must have abandoned him. He was just skin and bone when I first found him, but he's been with us for over a year now and he's doing really well.

How sad. How can anyone just dump him? I hope he keeps doing well with you. Persians are such great cats.

Breeders have been using Persians of other colors to enlarge the gene pool and to bring type into the cats for years. Most recently the use of color point Persians has proven successful. Just because they have a parent of another color, unless they have tabby markings, it doesn't mean they are tabby. If we go with that conclusion almost all of my cats are colorpoints since they have that behind them.  We have 1 colorpoint in the pedigree 22 generations ago, but they all carry the colorpoint registration number because of that one cat. All goldens are born as tabbies, but the barring fades into the shading as they grow. I am located in the northeast of the United States, in western Massachusetts. The kitten with the 'orange' may have tarnish, a color fault in silvers. I can't see it well enough to tell.

Lynda, Jack is definitely a gorgeous boy. He deserve to win. Goldens are so beautiful.

I am trying to load up a better picture one the kitten with the orange, but it is giving me trouble again. Not sure if it is this site or my computer. Maybe both. I need to send this one to the shop. I have had it not even a year and it is falling apart. Hinge broke..

It finally did it.. Yay The breeder sent me many photos..

From the photo you included, it doesn't appear to be tarnish on the kitten, so I guess ( and I am not an expert) maybe a shaded cameo? Not sure if that is possible genetically from this breeding. I will have to check on that. A shaded cameo is basically the same as a shaded silver except the tipping is red/cream instead of black or blue. They must be copper eyed though. The others all appear to be silvers. Silvers have tabby marking too as young kittens.

Thanks again for your compliments. Aside from being a beautiful cat, Jack is one of the sweetest cats I have ever had. He is also a pillow hog - steals my husbands pillow every night!

I never heard of a shaded cameo, but what you described sounds about right. My Princess has eyes that seem to turn from yellow to green at times, I would not call either of them have golden eyes. My Scarlett had beautiful golden eyes. She was show quality and so was Sasha my Himi. Scarlett was also the sweetest cat. She followed me everywhere.. I still miss her.

Posiepurrs, I just looked at your site for your cattery. All your cats are lovely. I think I fell in love with Vannie. Something about that face. How many cats do you have now?

I have enough that I stopped breeding for 3 years. I am not your typical breeder in that when I retire  a cat, I put them in a pet home. They are my pets first, not just show or breeder cats. Vannie is my second oldest girl (12 years old), small but mighty! She is NOT fond of grooming! She is Jacks grandmother. I will probably have one more litter - maybe. I want to breed Camie but am looking for the right male for her. The only intact male I have happens to be her sire so have to go elsewhere for a mate. Some of the cats (and dogs) on my site are at the rainbow bridge and have been or years but I included them because they are part of the family.

I thought breeder retire the cat sooner than 12 years old. My Himmi Sasha was a retired breeder. We got her at 9 years old. She was My Scarlett's mother. We got Scarlett 3 years earlier and I met Sasha then. She lived till she was 17. Where I got my 2 now also retires their cats to pet homes. Their mother was retired to a pet home.

Vannie was retired at about 4 years old- she just stayed here with me. Once a cat comes to me and is named, they are here for life.
I am glad to hear it. How many cats do you have? We can hardly handle 3. LOL Have I showed a picture of Tammie. She is a Mainecoon we believe.

I have around 10 -  all Persians since we lost Loki, our DSH in October.  I checked with my mentor on the genetics question about if a shaded cameo is possible from a silver and calico breeding. It is, in fact she has a shell cameo (a dilute version) right now from such a breeding.

I love all cats, but my favorite breed is the Persian - just so elegant and laid back. I recently showed a Siberian kitten for a friend. They are an interesting breed and the kitten was beautiful (a Golden tabby) but I like the challenge of grooming a Persian.
