Reading this thread, I haven't quite understood if you called your vet or if it was only your friends who called their vet.. Please excuse me, if I missed something.
I can understand if you are financially challenged with 3 kids and all, but let's not forget why you started this thread. It was because you probably noticed that Kit presented some quite alarming issues.
So, if you are not in a position of visiting a vet, at least make a call to the vet that normally takes care of her. For example, the vet who examined her when you first got her, or gave her her first vaccination shots. I am recommending this, because you are already a customer of that vet, so calling them doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get charged for any service..
My greatest concern is that she presents some balance issues and that her head is vibrating and bobbing, as you wrote. These are not good indications. Don't pay much attention to the fact that "she doesn't seem to be in any pain", because cats and generally animals are masters in concealing their pain. That's why you see her still trying to play, chase legs etc.. She's trying to get back to normal on her own..
Please, keep us updated but more importantly, call your vet and seek some advice at the least. It is you who can observe her status and course better. She is very very young, a baby.. And at this age, kitties are quite sensitive, especially if they get attacked like this.
I hope all goes well.
