Hello facebook land I need your help. I need to know if any of you have had the same issue or know what to do next. Our cat could not pee last sat. We brought him into emergency and they put a catheter and Iv in the cat to clear the crystals so on so forth. We have had the cat home 2 times, and he still cannot pee. We have had to take him back 3 times. Now they have a done a total of 3 catheters and 3 ives on this cat. We took him home last night and he still can’t pee this morning, he is eating and drinking water, just can’t pee. Please help we need to fix our cat. The vet bills are huge and we can’t take to much more. Have anyone been through this or know what we can do next. We are very distressed and don't know what to do next.?????

I would take him to your regular vet and have him checked out again. He should be on some kind of pain med, preferably NOT metacam (do some research on that), and possibly an antibiotic if he's also got an infection. He will probably need to either have his bladder expressed or another catheter. Also, he should stay at the vet until he can urinate on his own. If needed, get a second opinion by asking friends and family which vet they use and would recommend.
