'CSI' coming to N.Y.
LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- The city that never sleeps will soon be the backdrop of the next incarnation of CBS' "CSI" franchise.

Sources said CBS and the folks at franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer Television have settled on New York as the setting for the third "CSI"-branded forensic drama series, which is in the works for next season.

CBS and reps for Bruckheimer TV declined comment on the matter, but sources said CBS chief Leslie Moonves will announce the news Saturday during CBS' portion of the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Hollywood.

The drama, expected to be titled "CSI: New York," will join the Las Vegas-based mothership show, which is primetime's most-watched series, and "CSI: Miami."

Another one??? Don't get me wrong, I love the original CSI and I would prefer it stay that way, CSI Miami is okay, not as good as the original. Is this becoming like another Law and Order franchise??

I was wondering that myself. I love the original, but can take or leave the clone, so I question if they're not overextending themselves.

I love CSI Miami (David Caruso
) and regular CSI, the new (to the UK at least) series' start here on the 27th and I cannot wait!!! I don't know about CSI New York, I guess the upside is if it's terrible it probably won't make it over here anyway (I think we're way behind with regular CSI in the UK).

Here in Germany we're one season behind, but that's probably because everything is dubbed.

I LOVE CSI! Hey cool, that was all in caps.

Though I have to say that I love the original best. (HA! I sound like a little kid with that comment.) CSI Miami is good to watch too but I find that there's too much sleaze involved. CSI has class.

I am very curious as to how CSI New York will turn out.

I'm usually not very keen on franchises like these but I'm a sucker for science based shows. Though Buffy and Angel don't quite fit in that category.

I love CSI and it just feels weird watching the other people play MY CSI's parts!
I can't get into CSI: Miami and I doubt I'll get into CSI: NYC either.

One of the reasons I love CSI so much is b/c it's in Las Vegas and I go there a lot, so it's like it's in my town. Plus I love the men on the normal CSI.

I like the Law and Order clones though. I watch them more than I watch the original L&O.

I AGREE MAG, I LOVE CSI AND AND ALL

I like all that kind of show. Along with most of the scifi stuff.

We will just have to wait and see if it is any good.

I love to watch both CSI shows, to many repeats lately, that is becoming real old quick....
As far as another one, time will tell if it is going to be good or not. Kinda like cold case and with out a trace. Sometimes they can be a sleeper....

I love Cold Case, too! Unfortunately we don't have it here, but I saw it last summer when I was in the States.

jcat - are you referring to the show that is on A & E? There is a new show on CBS called Cold Case that started last fall.

It was the new show on CBS - my mom was signed up as a "previewer", had to watch several episodes on a special channel and fill out response forms. I think the filter on the channel was in for about 6 weeks. She also watched a new series that I believe was supposed to be on SciFi. I think she was picked at random by the cable company.

Okay so I do love CSI and CSI Miami but I hardly have time to watch the two that are on. How would I ever be able to get anything done if I try to add another one to my full tv schedule
. And of course all normal shows take a backseat to the Surivor Allstars that is about to start soon!!
