Hi there. I have two kittens from the same litter. They are 6 months old. One cat is a normal 7.5 pounds. But the male cat is 9.5 pounds. He isn't fat. Just...big. is this just considered the high end of normal? I've never had a kitten this big at 6 months. The other kittens from the litter are about 8.5 pounds or so.

They are adorable and thank you for adopting them!  Males tend to be bigger even if from the same litter.  Also, just like human brothers and sisters, they inherit different DNA from their parents and will be different in size, color, eye color, and pattern.

Thanks! This is actually just a picture of the male. My neighbor and I rescued them from underneath a deck. We both took in the whole litter plus mama cat. I love them! We got them in time to socialize them, and my current cat loves them too. I just thought he was a little big for his age. I guess he is going to be a big kitteh.

My male cat weighed about 8 lbs when he was 6 mos old.  He eventually grew into that!  He's now about 11 pounds and full grown.

Thank you! One of them peed on me two nights ago. UGH!!!  They are lucky they are cute.  :)

I took them to the vet the next day. The vet actually said that 9.5 pounds is pretty much within normal range for 6 months. I think it is a little on the higher side of normal, but still normal, which is good.

Now I have to deal with what is causing this behavioral issue.
