I have a faro cat who has adopted me. She is just a doll. I have had her for about 2 months. Her ear is snipped. However i have noticed lately she is getting a little pudgy. Just since yest she has taken up hiding in my shed attached to me porch. Today she is only coming out to eat and licking alot. She has no way of getting outaide unless i let her out. She is already set up with litter box. She is the best cat ever. I have never had a pregnant cat. Is it possible she is fixing to deliver. She isnt really all that big. And i really dont know what to do. She is hid in a corner on the concrete floor. Should i put a sheet down for her. Please help. I have no clue. Thank you

There are many things that can cause kittys tummy to swell besides being pregnant. Can you "handle" your kitty?  Do you feel baby kittens in her tummy?  Has the cat ever been to the vet - that you are aware of?  I know you said that her ear is snipped, which could cause us to believe she is TNRd, but I still think having her checked over by the vet is a really good idea.

Aside from that, if you have this cat trapped in your shed so she cannot get out, I think it would be nice if you did provide her a box and a sheet to make herself a nice little bed, whether she is pregnant or not.  :D  I think she would like that too!

We she isnt trapped per say. The shed is attached to my huge porch. I put a box and sheet in where she was hiding. She allows me to touch her belly. I am not to sure but if she was fixed i should be able to see it right. I looked and didnt see anything. Thank you for all the great advice molly.

can you get her into a carrier or a humane trap and get her to the vet? the vet can tell you for sure if she is pregnant. she could have worms. can you see her nipples? what do they look like?

Im not sure about a carrier. I had a hard time finding her nipples. I have wormed her though. Idk maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part. I guess it's the strangeness in way she has been acting all day. I fixed her up a bed and she wants nothing to do with it.

I depends on the vet who spayed her how easily you can tell.  A lot vets will give the kitty a tatto on her tummy so you can see that she has been fixed, and some vets do the ear tip... but unless you are experienced with these things, then I think it is hard to tell.  Our last girl we got spayed, that vet did not ink her.  The one we got from the shelter was inked, but she was already fixed when they picked her up.  There was a feral that got into our apartment trying to get away from people chasing her, and she was ear tipped.. but prior to seeing that cat, I didn't know what an ear tip was.  The momma cat we have right now has a torn ear...but since she was pregnant when we got her, I know that is a result of her hard life, and not being fixed.  My hands are untrained, so I couldn't tell by feeling her belly whether or not she is fixed... but your vet can probably tell you.

Again, the best idea is just to see if you can get her into a vet, pregnant or not.  Even if you are correct, and she is pregnant, you won't want any fleas or worms, or illness to pass to the babies.  If finances are a problem for you, do you have a low cost clinic or a resuce group in your area?  Getting in touch with them would be beneficial at this point because they can help to make sure any babies born are in good shape, and might be able to help you find homes for them too.

Your welcome (even if it wasn't the greatest advice)... we are all here to help!

Ah, that's normal. I bought my cats beds for Christmas last year and it took them months to even look at them.

At least if she is sleeping on the floor, its nobodys fault but her own.  Also, if you are providing it as a nesting box for her if she is preggo, then she will not want to start using it until time for her babies to come.  This is an act for protection.  If she starts sleeping there now, then her scent will be all over it. In the wild, if predators are in the area, a cat will change its sleeping spot so the predators will not know where to come looking for it while it is asleep and vulnerable.  She would not want to draw attention to the spot she will have her babies so that spot will be her "secret" for when it is time to deliver her babies.  She will likely move them within a couple weeks of having them for the same reason.

Yes a freind of mine is very big on that and i would have no problem with it. Thank you so much for the help. She is just the best cat ever. I own a bird and she cares nothing for it. Though i dont take chances with that. The bird is my baby. I have grown to love meow meow as well. Guess its time to figure out if she likes carriers. She is a forever keeper
