My cat, Jack, has had an odd lump on his jaw for a few days and it just seems to get larger. One side of his face seems to be swollen, while the other side is still the same. He's had one like this before, but we mixed some wet food with some antibiotics and that seemed to do the trick. Now, it's back and it's back with a vengeance. It's grown in size much more quickly than the last time. It seems to be a little tender to the touch as flinches away and meows when you touch it. He's also lost his appetite a bit, and is reluctant to eat the medicine mixed with wet food.
At first, we thought that maybe it was some kind of parasite (I often hear that "Wolf Worms" are common in cats and rabbits), but there's no entry wound or hole where it would have gotten in. Also, if that was the case, it wouldn't have gone away and come back, correct?
We're currently thinking it may be an abscess or some kind of infection. Does anyone know of a similar case or possibly know what might be wrong with him?
