Help! My neighbor just found (11/9 @2pm) a box of 5 kittens. They are about 4 to 5 weeks old. I'm in West Hollywood California. I sure can use some help. I currently have a 4week old bottle baby. I please need some extra hands! Any bottle baby mommies in California that can pitch in? Thank you:wavey:

Quick update on "box of kittens". All is good. Taking them today for worm n delflea. I'll contiune to give love and around the clock care. No help what so ever from any "Rescue" group, giving some people (not me) no choice but to take found cats or kittens to a animal shelter. I'm going to give it my best and find forever homes the ol fashion way, ask friends and family. Wish me luck. Thank you.

Best of luck to you! You are very kind to care for this box of kittens and give them a chance for a safe and healthy life.

You're awesome for caring for them! It's sad that rescues have to turn people away. They really hate doing it but with so many unwanted cats and kittens around, they don't have any other choice. What's awful is when the rescue I foster for is at capacity (even all the foster homes are full and we have many foster families) and someone drops by and says they will euthanize the kittens if we don't immediately take them. Our coordinator pulls strings and does everything she can. Sometimes staff members end up bringing them home. I know it's frustrating when they turn you away (it's happened to me) but please remember that they are in the rescue world because they want to save lives and they only turn them, especially very adoptable kittens, away when they don't have any more resources to be able to take them in. luckily they're in your hands and not someone's who would dispose of them. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who call them every day asking for them to take on more babies.

The important thing is spaying and neutering:). Rescues wouldn't have such a heavy load if people spayed and neutered their pets

Thank you. It is very frustrating looking for help, I wish I could do more. So for now it's 1 or 5 at a time, keeping them safe and loved. Forums like The Cat Site will help bring cat people together. I feel the love and support from other cat lovers, I truly appreciate the feed back. So yes, lets contiune to spay and neuter our beloved cats. We're ALL doing the best we can, individually or in groups!

Happy to report, Casper the Bottle Baby and 1 of the kittens from "Box of Kittens", where placed together in a awesome forever home! Out of the 5 Box of Kittens, 3 have forever homes. 2 to go, but no hurry. Casper enjoyed the company of the Box of Kittens, great learning experience for Casper, now named " London".
