I need Cat Counseling?

Got my feelings hurt today. Daughter (a cat human) came over today and mentioned that Boots has a Cat Tree, Cat House and a 'lot' of toys. I told her, "Boots had his first Grain Free Turkey and Whitefish dinner today."

I asked what she fed her cats. "They get whatever is on sale or I have a coupon for."

The wife says, "Oh. He has gone way overboard with that kitten."

Now I wonder if I need 'Kitty Kounseling.'  I mean, like, this is my first kitten. Always had big dogs. We have an empty nest. I have plenty time to spend with him. So I make a cat tree and cat house and buy some toys and buy good food. That don't make me Krazy. Or does it?

Crazy? Nah my family thinks I'm nuts too they have from the start when I got two kittens throughout the year it's gone like this...

Them -Why did you get cats?

Me - Depression

Them - Why did you get two?

Me - So they wouldn't have to be lonely when I'm gone besides research says it's better for them.

Them - Why did you buy a tree!?

Me - So they can have some space that is strictly there's sure it's an expensive purchase but so is everything else (referring to two carrier [$60], various toys [no idea how much], food, litter, etc

Them - Don't get another one (After Tsuki passed)

Me - I want to get a second because I miss her and Sera could use a playmate

First adoption attempt fell through after getting up to the point of approval, picking out a kitten, and being ready to take her home asap and the shelter denied leading to me being looked at as nuts for looking again and deciding to continue the process. When I found Vincent on Petfinder and told them I had been approved their reaction was disapproval still and telling me I was nuts due to cost but after seeing his picture that part went silent LOL.

But yeah I get called nuts all the time though having that crazy cat lady vibe may add to that (only go to Karate, no associations outside of Karate, closer to my cats than family, etc..)

So keep in mind your taking the thoughts of a crazy person here lol

you are much more polite than me. my answers would have been "none of your damn business, next question?" why do people think they have the right to tell you not to get another cat? it's not like they are coming over to take care of it. that's just rude imo..

Exactly. I don't understand that either. It is not family or anyone else business if you have an animal or two if they bring you joy and comfort and they are not dangerous or bothering others.

Definitely not crazy. Just a great cat daddy. We have 2 cats, 4 cat tree's, an outdoor enclosure and my husband helps walk them on leads in the backyard. He's as "crazy" as I am and I wouldn't have it any other way. If they want to call you a crazy cat man, let them and wear that badge with pride
. I bet your kitty just loves you!
