Yes, nail polish is good.  Make sure its a non poisnonous brand.  Say, left paw, right paw, hind left paw on the third... etc.

Renew now and then, as it will wearn out.

food color food dye may also work, but must be renewed often, as mom washes them.

As said, you can probalby wait awhile with cutting off the cord.   If necessary,  you cut off as discussed earlier.

You can smear something containing glucose sugar on her lips, for example glucose syrup, white caro syrup,  honey water...  Gives quick energy.

Common sugar works too, but is much slower.

Also, she may need to drink some water.
We offered her water, wasnt sure if we should offer her food. (Comparing to human birth). She is too occupied with the babies. I think we will try again once we move her to her new nesting area.

So Misty is all settled in her nesting area. In a nice warm walk in closet (as the rest of the house gets cold) and out of heavy traffic, just me in the morning lol. Anyways, she just started this rattling breathing. Could this be from her just being overly tired from the birth or should I be worried? She is open mouth breathing that sounds like a purr but with a rattle.

I think misty having kittens has made us bond more :) she has always been an independent queen. For the last 20 minutes she has been jumping on the bed mewing at me then going back to the closet. At first I thought she was just checking on her kittens. Then she stood by the door mewing at me. I go in and her kittens are all in a pile and she goes and lays near them, but can't get to her. I don't think they realized she was there. She was trying to bring them closer with her paws but was not having any luck, so she looked at me and then exposed her teats. Something made me move the kittens closer to her and help them find a teat and when I moved the last one she soft pawed my hand closer and snuggled it. So heartwarming!! I had to share this amazing experience with you guys. I always knew misty preferred me to my husband but I never knew she trusted me so much to seek my help :)

Here is dad checking out mom and the babies. He keeps nudging her to see if she is okay and comes running everytime a baby makes a sound.

I love the last picture. I watched the toms in our old feral colony babysit the kittens often. Never seen one hurt one even though the little buggers would pounce , chew and attack every part of them.

He is so good. When she leaves he immediately comes and take watch. Our other male has been checking in on her as well, but he won't go into the closet, I think it's a respect thing because she is not being hostile to any visitors. When she comes out the other male, tiger, will lick and cuddle her. I think these kittens will end up being group raised lol.

With that dark tail and dark ears, AND dark face, he is perhaps not common red tuxedo,  he seems to be a point.  I baffles me as he doesnt has the usual blue eyes.  Possibly he carries the burmese type of point gene.

Do you know if he was whitish as infant, and got darker with time?  Darkened up quickly within a few months, or first now as adult?

Momma is part siamese you wrote earlier.  So she should carry the point gene.

Dads body was practically white and face was light gray when he was little. He started getting darker as he grew up but before he was fully grown. Both mom and him have blue eyes.

Look at all the stuff I missed in the thread!  It was fun to read it this morning with such a happy ending.

Your cats are very beautiful.  It should be easy to find homes for the babies.

I think I read one time that someone used different color sharpies to mark the pads of the feet...or different symbols on the feet to tell them apart.  It looks like they are pretty much all the same size so you have no runt?

Congratulations on the perfect delivery...well done...I really like the looks of her nest!

Thank you. :) I'm going to have a hard time parting with them lol. I weighed them last night and two were 120g, one 121g, and the last 123g. So I'm hoping those are nice healthy weights.

I may try the sharpie thing. I did the nail polish one and the kittens move so much it was hard to not getting on their little fur and get them back to mom quickly before they start mewing and all the cats come running lol.
