That's terrible. Did you contact FirstMate about their canned cat food? And yes. The Halo recall was only on the Turkey recipe and I think it was due to salmonella. I'm sorry to hear about this. It's very unfortunate that we trust these companies to make good food and here there are recalls because a worker was careless in their job. Wellness CORE is a good food - nutrition wise. Nurto is also a good food. Instinct is also a very good food. My cats would be on that if it wasn't so expensive or if I had a better job. Good luck and sorry for your loss.
The worst part, i made them eat it all ... All are expensive foods - FirstMate's Chicken [made in Canada] botulism poisoned them with no canned food recall ever made! The other was their dry food by Halo [sensitive Turkey IIRC - it is on the recall list right before the treats recall I posted - on the recall list.] Then I found the treats I had just gotten and was trying to get the remaining 7 to eat them the week before this recall were dangerous. Unbelievable! I do without healthy foods to buy the healthiest pet foods available - and it poisoned them! Really hard to handle the guilt and sadness. Had to return to the Nature's Variety Instinct canned - even tho they have added broth [a possible glutamate toxin] and am trying 2 different dry foods - one by Organix and another brand kitten formula - will have to get the exact brand name if anyone wants to know ~ the way this has been going I would not be all that surprised to find them on the recall list next!!!
