Recently we adopted 2 beautiful adult male cats. They were in a foster system and were being fed wild calling wet food. 1/2 can each in the morning and at night. We went to the store and spent almost $50 on cat food to keep them with the same brand. But that's a lot of money.

Can anyone recommend a good brand that won't cost us a fortune? We've had cats before but have always fed them whatever dry food was on sale- were trying to be better kitty parents this time around.

Welcome and Congrats on your new boys ..

If you want to stay with wet food there are lots of options that are far less expensive but good too .

There are a couple of options in 3 oz cans  . Fancy Feast Classic , Sheba Pate  , Nutro Natural Choice .

For 5.5 oz cans you have  Friskies Pate formulas are decent and affordable .

Tractor Supply has a brand called 4 Health that is affordable .

Petsmart has a couple of  brands  , Authority & Great Choice  ..

These are some of the cheaper brands but there are many more to choose from in all different price ranges .

Wild Calling ia an expensive but good brand but you don't need to exclusively feed it or at all
There are plenty of good quality brands that won't break the bank. Fancy Feast Classic / Gourmet, Friskies, Wellness, Special Kitty (a Wal Mart brand), etc. Buying the larger sizes cans and buying a case of food instead of individual cans can help save money.

Here's a recent thread about affordable healthy food: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/308964/healthy-but-affordable-canned-food
