Currently I don't give my kitty Penny any nutritional supplements and I was wondering how TCS members feel about cat vitamins and the like.

I myself take minerals and vitamins which led me to question whether cats could benefit from a "nutrition boost" the way humans do

Thank you in advance

Always check with your vet before giving vitamins. Depending on what brand you feed your cat, you may not have to supplement the diet at all. I feed my cat a crushed pill of acidophilis with his wet food to keep good bacteria in his belly. I also add 2-3 drops of grapefruit extract to his water to kill intenstinal bugs. But always check when you get first.

It's not a vitamin, but I have had excellent results giving Cosequin to Tillie for arthritis. It's a nutriceutical, basically kitty glucosamine chondroitin. After 3 weeks on it, she wasn't limping anymore, she wasn't grouchy anymore, and became a little love bug!!! I guess she was hurting more than I had guessed. I am glad I found something to help her!
