There is something white sticking out of the tip of my cats tail and causing her to bleed. Does not seem to bother her or putting her in pain just a lil concerning to me. What could it be if any of you have seen anything like this and what should I do?

Is it the very end of the tail bone? An injury to the tail end could cause the bone to protrude and bleed. Or it could be something else entirely. I suggest a trip to the vet to have the tail checked out.

Yes it is at the very end of the tail bone, trying to avoid going to the vet cause they charge alot and most the times just say that you could have just let it heal on its on. Trying to avoid the vet, cause sometimes time is just the answer, just courious and a lil worried. Heck of alot more worried then the cat, she seems not to be worried about it.

If his tail bone is exposed it is very serious that you take them to the vet for antibiotic. They will most likely need to amputate part of his tail. within a few days he could get a very bad infection that could kill him, so I really wouldn't wait  The cost won't be to high as long as the cat doesn't have a break above the tail, it could of gotten slammed and pinched by something, or something else along the tail. This isn't something you should just wait and see if it heals on its own, if it happened to one of my cats I would take them to a 24/7 pet hospital. You could wait until tomorrow, but your cat will need a very clean room to rest in until tomorrow.

The tail is just bone and nerves and muscle covered with skin and fur. There isn't anything else that could protrude from the end of the tail except for maybe a tumor or abscess caused by injury. Regardless, anything protruding out of a cat's body that shouldn't be there needs to be treated by a vet before it gets infected.
