I have two 1 year old cats. They have always been well fed and were robust and quite solid and heavy to pick up until recently. Suddenly both of them started to lose weight. They became quite thin quite quickly and I thought they must need worming, but I've wormed them both twice now and neither of them is putting on weight again. I've noticed that their appetites seem smaller than they used to be, but apart from that they still seem happy and active, with healthy coats - just very thin. Can anyone throw any light on whats going on here? And please dont say "Just take them to the vet" I live in the country and every time I've taken one of my pets to the vet, they've ended up dead or seriously ill, so I have NO confidence in any of the 3 vets who operate in a 100 km radius of my property. Thank you.
