I picked up a pregnant stray and have been fostering her. She had quite an attitude so we could not bathe her or get too close without getting scratched. She gave birth and I recently found ringworm on all 5 of her kittens. They are all staying in a different room than my own cats. One of my cats had ringworm before; topical treatment did not work on her whatsoever; they kept going away and coming back. Finally the vet suggested giving Ketaconazole pills for 10mg/10kg. My cat was 8 months at the time and after a week all the ringworms were gone. Now for the young kittens, I brought them to the vet and was given Davis Miconazole shampoo and Alkin Fungikur spray (apparently a British brand? Never saw them in the States before). Have been spraying them once a day, put the cone on them, but I saw little to no results. The vet did say they are too young for pills, which I agree. Is there anything else I can do? The spray has not been helping much and based on my research, lime dip seems to be the safest and most effective way. However I live in South east Asia now and cannot find lime dip anywhere. The local cat rescuers suggested iodine solution, have not tried that yet, don't know if that works. If anyone knows how to make your one lime sulfur dip, or anything else that is effective against ringworm, please let me know. Thank you!
