Coughing after spay

Hello. My kitten poppy of 8 months was spayed two days ago on Friday. Since I got her back I noticed her "voice" has changed. At first I thought maybe it was just the anaesthetic but her voice is still rather raspy when she meows. Just this morning she started having this heaving cough. She's done it a couple times so far but she's not vommitting just coughing really heavy. Then I'll go check on her and she stops when I pick her up. What could this be? Is she sick or could this still be a side effect of the surgery?

Call the vet who spayed her and ask about it.

I can't really call today as they aren't open. I did it at a low cost spay neuter clinic and they don't open Sundays. I'll call them tomorrow I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

They could have put a tube down her throat for the procedure and it could be irritated.  I would still check with the clinic when they're open though.
