Bella is a SH Persian. She is show/breed quality and registered as such with the GCCF.
She comes from a long line of champions, grand champions and imperial champions.
Bella has had gene tests and blood tests and was ready to have some fur babies of her own.
I reasontly took Bella to a persian breeder because she was calling for the 3rd time and driving me mad with the noise.
The breeder has a beautiful solid blue champion stud boy and agreed Bella was fine to stay there after seeing all her paperwork.
The breeder has been in the game since the 1970's and knows exactly what she's doing, she judges at shows and has a lovely clean, well kept cattery.
Bella got on really well with the big boy, everyday i phoned the breeder a least 3 times (lol) asking how my baby was, i missed her so much!
Anyway she had been there for 3 days and the breeder said that she hadn't witnessed any mating, but she had left them together overnight, so they could have done the business but she hadn't seen it if they had, i picked Bella up the following day because i missed her to much to leave her there any longer.
So after a week of being home, Bella started acting really out of character.
Her normal Behaviour is very sweet & loving but at the same time she has always been very high maintenance, she likes to be cuddled like a baby, she doesn't clean herself, i wipe her over everyday and bath her once a month (which she is fine with), i clean her eyes & nose twice a day while she just lays there and purrs.
She likes to sit there and cry when she is ready for bed, she does this until i pick her up and carry her upstairs then She sleeps with me, her head in the crook of my arm and her body under the covers. She wakes me up between 5-5:30 every morning putting her face right up to mine and meowing loudly.
Then our morning routine starts, we come downstairs ( me carrying her) i put a bowl of fresh water down and a bowl of food, she ignores it sitting by my feet in the kitchen until i've made a cuppa tea. I then go and sit down with it, she sits next to me waiting patiently until my tea has cooled down to stick her flat face in it! Once she's had enough of my tea she then goes and eats her breakfast, then comes back for me to rub her belly.
A week after being home, she decided she no longer wants to be picked up! She even walks up the stairs to get into bed herself.
She is eating twice as much as usual.
She wants attention but does not want to lay on her back like a baby anymore.
She wants her fur brushed but doesn't want me to brush her belly, she is actually attacking the brush.
She sleeps a lot, but thats not unusual, she loves her beauty sleep she alway has!
If she did mate with the stud she will be 4 weeks tomorrow, but i have been checking her buttons (nipples) every other day and there is no sign of pinking? This is what i have been told to look for by the breeder of the stud and also the breeder i got Bella from. They have both said, that females do not always pink up, but she defiantly should have a noticeable difference by the time she is 6 weeks. I haven't taken her to the vet to check because i dont want to stress her out if she is, but i also want to know foe sure if she is as well.
Is there other signs that i should be looking for at 4 weeks?
