It was late in the evening when my fiancé found her, we took her to the vet the very next day. She needed antibiotic eye salve (I don't recall the name of it, it was just in a small white and silver tube.) and an oral antibiotic and several times a day I used a warm wash cloth to gently clean her eyes. I didn't want to hurt her delicate eyes but sometimes I had to briskly rub the wash cloth over her eyes. I was careful not to force her eyes open. I wear contact lenses (sometimes) so I did have sterile saline that I tried using a couple times. I'm not certain if it helped or not significantly but I don't think it did any harm. The infection cleared up fairly quickly. She has beautiful eyes! Her eyes have changed color. From being closed shut and looking awful and crusted over, to being a brownish, grayish, blue-greenish color to green to now a unique green-gold! I'm so glad she did not lose her sight. The vet said from what she can tell her sight is "normal". She stalks her toys, she seems to see very well. She was so dehydrated and malnourished. Now she's a healthy 3 pound little girl. Luckily, she didn't have fleas or parasites. My fiancé even told me not to bother naming her and not to get attached bc she probably wouldn't make it through the night. Well, tomorrow is her 12 week birthday!

Well, happy birthday!

@Adoringangel72   thanks for your response!

I have some antibiotic eye drops called Tobrex, which I used to treat my budgie. It is a human medicine, but it worked fine on the budgie. I'll ask the vet if I can use that.

I use make up remover cotton pads, cause the kitty family is stray, they live in an abandoned house next to my appartment.. So, I have to go over there to treat the little guy. So far, he has no apparent infection. Just a little bit of "mucus", but it has reduced the last 36 hours.. His eyes have opened more.. In spite of that, I will ask the vet for further instructions.. Maybe the little guy needs some preventive treatment, so as to be safe..

I hope everything works out and he gets better. [emoji]128571[/emoji] The oral antibiotic the vet gave my kitten was exactly like the antibiotic my children's doctor prescribed to my kids when they were babies the few times they got sick. The same pink color, same exact medicinal smell, had to be refrigerated, etc. I swear it was the same stuff! Lol.
Oh, I used those makeup remover cotton gauze rounds before for her eyes too sometimes. Those work fine.

I hated that antibiotic when I was a kid.. It had a strawberry and a banana flavour. I hated both. For some reason I took medicine that tasted like actual medicine, more easily than the "false flavoured" ones..

Me too! I hate artificial flavored anything! Nala did t care for it either. I had to put the syringe in her mouth really quickly or ended up mostly just adding it to her formula bottle! Lol.
