This is Sloan, he's five months old. I just noticed this tooth today. It's his bottom one and it is really loose, and he isn't closing his mouth all the way. I was wondering if this was normal at this age or if something is wrong. I read somewhere else that you don't normally notice milk teeth falling out because they swallow them, which is why I'm not sure about it.

He's at the age when the kitten teeth fall out and adult teeth come in, so this is totally normal. Keep an eye on him and if you think it's bothering him, get him to the vet for them to check it out.

One of our girls had a terrible time with her adult teeth coming in and baby teeth falling out. She was about 25 weeks at the time and we came home to find she had cut her gums with her claws trying to get the extremely loose baby teeth out of her gums. We ended up having to give her something rubbery to bite down on to help the teeth fall out. Her breath was awful too! Anyway, she bit down on a rubber teething toy and out came the loose teeth. One she swallowed and the other we caught! So Layla got a visit from the tooth fairy...and her gums healed and she was much happier in the morning. Her vet was surprised that we caught a tooth and said it was totally normal at her age!
