I don't know what to do. I brought my cat Romeo to get his teeth cleaned & when I brought him home, my other cat Chloe has been hissing & growling at him for 3 days! This is the 3rd time it has happened. I know that the scent is bothering her. I just wish I could find a way to prevent it. I tried to wipe him down with vinegar- water, I put vanilla extract on the back of his head. This is really upsetting me & I think it is really hurting his feelings. Anybody have any suggestions?

Try putting a dab of vanilla on both cats, under their chins and on their backs at the base of their tails. This will make sure that they both smell the same.

As you know, cats recognize other cats by their scent. Romeo came back not just smelling stressed (that your other cat would recognize), but smelling different. In their world, different smell = different cat. In order for any of those scent tricks to work, you have to fool Chloe into thinking that Romeo still smells just like she does.

To prevent it in the future, put the similar scents on both cats before one of them goes to the vet.
