I feel like we recently had a chocolate day and I started a thread like this, but apparently there's another day to celebrate. :lol3:

So, in honor of National Chocolate Day,

Do you like chocolate? What is your favorite type? What's your favorite way to have chocolate?

I do like chocolate. These days a prefer a higher quality dark chocolate. I normally have my chocolate in a baked good.

We have an excellent local candy store....honestly, their chocolate is decadent. I love their chocolate-covered pretzels and we usually buy 1/2 pound of the milk chocolate pretzels and 1/2 pound of dark chocolate pretzels. They are so delicious.

I am a chocoholic. Chocolate chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake (Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate Chocolate Cake is TDF), cupcakes, a lovely chocolate silk pie...they're all just wonderful. I made a pan of Buckeye Brownies to take to my GF's house this past Saturday. Those brownies were gone in no time, the chocolate brownie, topped with a peanut butter layer, and then topped with a layer of chocolate. Dear heaven, they are good. I love chocolate.

My GF's grandson is a certified chocoholic, too; there's a reason I love this kid. Once when they came to dinner, our dessert was chocolate cream puffs with a chocolate ganache filling, and topped with a little confectioners' sugar and some chocolate shavings. We both thought we'd died and went to chocolate heaven.

Give me a bag of peanut M & M's and get out of my way. I won't, can't stop til the entire bag is gone.

What is your favorite type? I really like white chocolate! But I like milk and sometimes dark, too.

What's your favorite way to have chocolate? Ice cream, I guess? Lol.. you know candied ice creams... rocky road, moose tracks etc.

I like candy bars.. my favorite is 3 musketeers and reeses peanut butter cups. I am not a big fan of chocolate cake, really but I am not a huge cake person any way.. But I love double fudge brownies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip muffins.. the huge ones you find at costco. I guess I love mostly chocolate everything. ;) I like chocolate cream pie too. And I do like chocolate cereal. And hot chocolate... haha I am a chocoholic.

Dark chocolate, high quality.  I really love the Lindt Excellence line, their Touch of Sea Salt makes me swoon!

Edit:  The other week I was at my niece's Sweet 16 party. The table favors were a little package of various sour gummies (yum!) and Hershey's Kisses.  I discovered, Hershey's Kisses are AWFUL.  I hadn't had them in ages and was so disappointed.

Regular hershey kisses are awful. I like the hershey almond ones and my favorite the candy cane hershey kisses!

I am so with you. There's nothing quite like really good quality dark chocolate. Lindt makes good stuff and that touch of sea salt bar is fantastic.

Hershey's kisses are awful but then again, I'm really not a fan of anything they make

I'll take my chocolate as is. I'd rather it not be baked into anything. Baked goods to me are a good, crusty warm bread served with good cheese and some wine, thank you!!

I love love York patties, they are my favorite, 3 muskateers are another fav of mine.  I love most all chocolate, dark and light.  I don't like white chocolate altho I know white is the normal color of chocolate but the color just doesn't appeal to me.  I love chocolate frosting on yellow cake and chocolate pudding.  So yeah, I love chocolate.

Mmm, I like 3 Musketeers bars, too. We have a bag of assorted mini candy bars and 3 Musketeers are included. I've helped myself to a couple of them....delicious little one-bite wonders.

Yaaayyyyyy!

I've got a bar of Ghirardelli 100% cacao, but that sounds too healthy for a chocolate celebration. So, I also have dark chocolate covered walnuts, milk chocolate covered almonds, then really junky "mainstream" Snickers Fun Size (those are supposed to be for any ghosts and goblins that show up unannounced at the door), and plain and dark-mint chocolate M&M's.

I'm not sure that's enough. Perhaps I'll make a pan of fudgy brownies today!

I love chocolate. White chocolate, too. Right now I can't get enough Dove's dark chocolate. I just had a handful about an hour ago.

Even though I don't have a sweet tooth like I used to have I do still enjoy good chocolate. I went to the outlet mall last weekend and they have a Godiva store there, I don't know how that got in there it is just a regular Godiva store. You can buy it by the piece in one of their stores. I got a small box of 8 pieces that I picked out. I was good though I ate the last piece last night.

Your post had me thinking about chocolate all day so tonight I baked dark chocolate brownies. I just took them out of the oven and can't wait to try them for dessert. Thanks again for letting us know about this special day to celebrate. ;)
