I can honestly say, Rosies teeth are lovely!.

I don't clean them, but i think it's down to feeding her dry food from being a kitten that they are like this, and the vets never said that anything is wrong with them when he checks her over, then again, she's not even 2 years old yet?!.

There's no way i would even go there anyway!. You should see the job i have getting a worm tablet down her!!!!.

Movin' on up!
I do a weekly check on my cats: teeth, gums, ears, coat and skin condition. So far, everyone has nice, sharp, shiny white teeth. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I've never attempted to clean their teeth, because they'd probably put up a good fuss with me. Haha! Plus their teeth are fine. I do check them regularly, and they haven't had any problems.... yet.

I don't brush their teeth myself - I know I should, but it's just too much to keep up with on top of everything else.

They do get a dental if the vet says they need it though.

There is no way that Leo would let me near his teeth. He cant stand it when I try to brush him
But my bf's mom said that once when she took her cat to the vet he was able to scratch some plaque off of her cat's teeth! ILL!

Looks like our members aren't into brushing their cat's teeth. I know that there are mouthwashes you can add to cat's water that will take the plaque off of their teeth. I will see if I can scare up the website link and post it. Definitely easier than brushing your cat's teeth. In the wild, cats will chew on bark or bone and scrape their teeth off to clean them.

A couple of years ago, I took Snowball to the vet to have his teeth cleaned, and the only thing the vet had to do was remove some tarter. At that time, I asked about possibly trying to start brushing his teeth, and I was told Snowball would probably refuse to put up with it since he is an older cat.

That sounds interesting!

Hissy! That'd be GREAT if u could find that weblink regarding mouthwash for water.. I haven't tried to brush my cats' teeth yet and am SCARED to!
The vet said all teeth are good EXCEPT for Spike's. She said it's not THAT bad yet but she recommended I start cleaning his teeth now or bring him in for teeth cleaning in the next few months..
Soo, that's why I posted this poll to see if others were cleaning their cats' teeth..

Remember if cats get plaque and it isn't treated, they could die from this..

I plan on brushing Cupid's teeth b/c he'll let me do just about anything to him right now. I got this finger toothbrush thing and this yummy (to cats) toothpaste. You put the finger thing on and just let them chew on your finger. Then after they're used to that you can switch to the itty bitty toothbrush. People can go a while w/o brushing and still have pretty teeth even though their chances for gum disease, cavities, etc are rising. So I imagine cats are the same way.

I haven't tried it yet of course, but if he absolutely hates it I'll find another way. A book I read said a big piece of tuna from the fish market is good for cleaning their teeth b/c they really have to chew on it.

Here's the link:

Oxyfresh

I'm the one who posted this on the forum last year, so that's why I know about this product.
