Yesterday morning before i went out my kitten (i think shes around 14 weeks?) had what i though was some fur out of place on her jaw, it wasn't very noticeable. we were gone all day but when we came home it was a noticeable swollen lump. As of morning it was even more swollen. (as of this morning swelling seems to have stopped so its no longer growing) unfortunately we had plans to go out of town again today and werent able to take her to the vet. Im hoping im able to get her in tomorrow but in the mean time does anyone have experience with this? Im thinking its probably an abscess, has anyone had experienced in treating these at home or any advice on what i might be able to do in the mean time to help her?

One of our cats, Murphy (who is no longer with us) was swollen on one side of his face, I believe it was an abscess of some sort. He was an adult (16 years old) the next time I saw him, which may have been a day or two (he was an indoor/outdoor cat) it was gone.

It was very challenging to catch him and bring him to the vet so I never got a chance to chase him down, with my super long rubber gloves and beach towel, and take him.

When he passed two years later we were told he had periodontal disease. I would definitely take her when you can since she is so young, poor baby.
