Hi everyone!

This is kind of a cat and human health in one. So I am fostering a cat right now who had had ringworm in the past. A few days after I had brought her home I noticed a bald spot that was covered by the fall of her fur. I took her to the vet, thinking it could be ringworm and due to the smooth (not dry or scaly) nature of the spot and the fact that it was on her back the vet was confident it wasn't ringworm just from looking at her. She did a black light test that was negative and did no further testing. So here I am, about three weeks later and a red, dry spot has developed on my neck. It just dawned on me that it could be ringworm. Here is a picture, if you could tell me if it looks like ringworm or not, that would be great. Thanks!

I would say no. Typically ringworm produces an actual red ring and the skin in the center looks normal. (On human skin)

Not typical but possible. Its usually a roundish pink spot.  If you're spreads then i'd be worried.  You can always treat it with Lamosil cream and see if it responds. What happened to your cats spot?  The vet could have cultured it for a definitive test.
