Do healthy cats not scratch themselves at all?

Hi,

I've been doing  lot of searching online but can't seem to get my answer. My little Michka was a rescue and scratched her ears and chin when we first got her. She did have earmites so we took her and treated her with revolution and she'll also receive the second dose is a week. Her ears look clean now and apart from the vet, we cleaned them ourselves as well. I never saw  signs of flees either but she does scratch her chin once in a while as well along with her ears. She never scratches up to a bad point like redness or bleeding or anything. She simply scratches once in a while and having received treatment has decreased it maybe a bit but she still does it lets say for around 5 times a day.

Is this okay or is a healthy cat supposed to NOT SCRATCH AT ALL? Whatever I read online refers to a disease but I keep thinking maybe once in a while is normal cuz she's been treated and doesn't seem irritated or anything much....

Thanks in advance.

Cats, dogs, people... We all scratch, get an itch, sometimes, very normal. When you notice the scratching becomes more persistent or concentrated in an area is when you may need further assistance to find the cause.

If in doubt put in a call to the vet that treated your kitty and ask about it.

Hope this helps a little. :)

Thanks LotsofFur! I think it should be normal too, I just wonder why it's always the same area. I'll definitely ask the vet at her next visit for vaccines :)
