Meet Chloe and Bartok! They are from the same litter. I still have one more I am trying to catch, but this one proves to be the most difficult of the three, but I am so glad it still has mama! After I seen Chloe's eye, I could not let her go. These babies were very feral and very scared. I seen her with no supplies and just went for it. Needless to say, my right hand is pretty banged up from her teeth, but no infection has set in or anything and it's been over 24 hours, so I think I am safe! I know, it was not smart of me...but look at this baby's eyes!
Also, I have never seen anything like it...I would have taken pictures, but it was just too much in my opinion...when I gave them baths, I had to drain the water twice for each of them...because the water turned to blood! from fleas! I have never seen anything like that in my life. The smell was just awful. I cried for these babies!
I caught her brother tonight, the night after I captured her, but I used a trap for him. I also found out 100% who mama is, and she is getting spayed asap, she is also a feral.
But, I wanted to start this thread in hopes that it may help someone else one day with eye infections, anemia, dehydration, and anything else these babies go through on their way to recovery and the good life!
They are going to their first vet visit in just a few hours. Anyone who has followed my stories know that I am a broke full-time college student, going to school to be a Vet Tech. I recently interviewed at two vet offices, and I am really, really hoping to hear back from the second one soon. They are the office that spays and neuters our ferals! This being said, the only way these babies are currently able to go to the vet is because of awesome cat lovers! Do you believe I have raised over $300 on gofundme for their care already? I am just so shocked and I am so glad I am able to get these babies the care they need!
Also, they have been eating okay and their hydration status is currently good, finally! Thank God. I syringe them water ever few hours to make sure they are getting enough fluids. They readily lap it up from the syringe.
