i really enjoy the NCIS various shows!

do you know -- is Criminal Minds putting out new episodes still?
They certainly are.  Still on Wednesday nights, at 10pm.  Going strong after...um...I think this is season 11.

Guilty admission...not only do I watch the NCIS franchise, Bones and Criminal Minds, I buy all the seasons on DVD so I can revisit my favorite ones.  I still have to buy the Mentalist series, now that it's over, as well as NUMB3RS.  Thinking about Blood Ties, as well...that's only one DVD.. And must get Outlander when it comes out on DVD.  I don't get any premium channels, just regular expanded cable, so I'm missing that, and it's from one of my favorite book series!

Once Upon a Time's story can get a bit complicated at times, but i enjoy the show too!
That's what I like about it, I love the complicated plot twists and story lines.  I think it's a show that if you don't watch every episode you could get lost.

Such an Outlander fan! I love the books and I dearly love the show as well. We don't get the premium channels either, but I do rent Starz when Outlander is airing. And I will need to get the DVDs, too. (I have the song that was playing when Jamie and Claire talked about getting married on my iPod....it's called The Marriage Contract. Love Outlander!

Or if you've not familiar with all the fairy tales and other mythical story-lines.  Right now my lack of King's Arthur's story is making the show a bit confusing for me.

It is not really following King Arthur's story. OUAT has changed it to follow their storyline. Just thin of Arthru as the illegitimate child of Kind Uthur. Arthur was befriended by Merlin (who some claim was the original and most powerful wizard of all) , who foresaw him and trained him to be an honest and caring king. Arthur was magical chosen to remove  a sword embedded in a stone for ages. But doing this he  became the future king and created Camelot. Camelot was a magical, honest, happy kingdom. That is where the knights of the round table began. Arthur lead with chivalry and honestly. His faithful knight was Lancelot, who fell in love with Arthur's wife, Gwenovere. This along with Arthur's half sister, Morgana (a witch) led to his downfall. Morgana seduced Arthur and had a son by him....

That is a brief history of King Arthur...as I can recall it...

If you want to read up on King Arthur, may I suggest the novel, "The Mists of Avalon".. I love that book.

Thanks Artiemom, your brief history was very helpful.   And I've put "The Mists of Avalon" on my "wishlist" at the library.

Vet School is OK. I really enjoy watching Dr. Pol. I don't care about watching any of the other new shows.

I also enjoy:

Mike & Molly

The Middle

Modern Family

I just started watching Mad Men last year and fell in love with the show. I was so mad when they stopped showing it.
i really enjoy watching Dr Pol too!

You are quite welcome! I hope you understood what I wrote! I have a habit of not proof reading my posts before I post them!!  And, I hope I remembered and re=told it correctly!!

I absolutely love Camelot! and all that has to do with King Arthur.

Hope you enjoy the book as much as I have. I think I read it 3 or 4 times. I have to buy another copy of it and re-read it...

I used to be obsessed with the Arthurian legend and read everything I could get my hands on.  Seeing this show has caused me to download Idylls of the King, which is one of my all time favorites of the Arthur legend. Something I would like to point out is that Lancelot was not the knight with the purest heart - that was Galahad (who started the quest for the  Holy Grail).  In Idylls, the story of Lancelot and Gwenaver fell in love was that Arthur had his best friend Lancelot go and get her from her father's castle and transport her to Avalon. Along the way, they fell in love.

Once thing I love I about Once Upon a Time is that they don't stick to the traditional fairy tale stories.  In this version of the story, Arthur is something of a villain, or at least a very complicated man and not a great hero as in the legend.

I haven't seen Mordred yet, his son that ends up killing him.

Also, I'm wondering if the Dark One who imprisoned Merlin in the tree was Nimue (who was the woman he loved and who he was teaching magic to. Once she got powerful enough, she imprisoned him - if I remember that story correctly)

Hmm, since I live in Greece, I don't have much of a choice.. I do have digital satellite pay TV, with which I can watch international programmes and they include movie premieres, documentaries, shows and tv series..

So, on that I can watch many continued series: Grey's Anatomy, Bones, Modern Family, How to Get Away with Murder, Homeland, True Detective. I also watch Bondai Vet (Hot!).

My mother really likes to watch "I Am Cait", since it's the 1st time any type of TV programme has a reference on transgender individuals - which I think is useful (although it kinda feels like a "sister-show" to "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", sometimes..)

None of the channels shows the Brooklyn Nine Nine (so, I have to download it) which cracks me up!

The only new series I've taken on is "Grandfathered" and I recommend it

I can't wait to X-Files' premiere

I was hoping for a next season to Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, though

At the beginning of 2015 I watched American Crime, which was amazing.
do you know if people are able to 'stream' (tv shows/movies, via the internet and using higher speed internet) in Greece? i would assume that might be possible in many countries, but i don't know that for sure.

i love the vet shows! i watch ones from other countries as well as from here in the US. i hadn't heard about Bondai Vet though.

We have dish network. I watch TV so seldom, I forget how to use the remote to find anything. At Christmas I might watch some of the Hallmark movies. I do enjoy unsolved mysteries, but there are no shows at all that I follow or care enough about to follow and watch them regularly. We have two wide screen TV's. If I lived here alone, I probably would sell them and get rid of dish network.
oh, i love the Hallmark movies!

Thanks for the push for Elementary! I'm going to start watching Season 1 and work my way through.

You'll have to google the SH/Bones crossover. I think it starts this coming Thursday night on Bones at 8, then continues with Sleepy Hollow at 9. We were trying to figure out how it was going to work because Tempe is such a scientific/mathematical/logical/rational person, that sci-fi is not something she's going to want to handle. And can you see Ichabod with Tempe? Oy As as rule, I'm not really fond of crossovers because they usually just don't work.

On the other hand:  http://www.tvguide.com/news/mega-buzz-bones-sleepy-hollow-crossover/

Starts this coming Thursday at 8:00 on Bones according to TV Guide.
i'm so glad you mentioned the sleepy hollow/bones crossover! i'll definitely watch both shows -- for me, they'll be available to watch on friday. i sure hope they do the crossover episodes well. and thank you for the link!

Thanks for the additional info and for rejuvenating my brain cells! I will have to look up the book you mentioned; Idylls of the King.....

That was good thinking on the idea of Nimue. I am a bit confused. Is Nimue the Lady of the the Lake? or is that a Goddess? I think The Lady of the Lake is a goddess. She was seen in a previous season of OUAT.

Well, now tht Merlin is around, who knows what is about to happen. The writers really do shake up the old legends....

You really should see the final episode.  Very sweet.  If you decide not to, holler at me via pm and I'll tell you about it.  Don't want to spoil for any one else.

Nimue was the girl / woman that Merlin fell in love with / became obsessed with / Beguiled by. He taught her his magic, but if I remember she made him fix it so he couldn't use his magic on her. When she got to be a powerful magician on her own, she imprisoned Merlin in a tree (or Crystal Cave, depending on which version your read) and became King Arthur's advisor.

She IS often presented as Lady of the Lake, but there are various other names for Lady of the Lake, and so many different versions it's hard to tell.

You might not like Idylls of the King, it is free verse by Lord Alfred Tennyson.  I was introduced to the Arthurian tales in high school when we had to read the one about Lancelot and Elaine, and fell in love with it.  Elaine nursed Lancelot back to health after he was injured in a tournament where he came disguised, so she didn't know he was Lancelot.  I have a whole library of Arthur books, which I haven't read for a while.  Now my interest is getting stirred up again. I've been waiting for this story plot since they mentioned Camelot way back several seasons ago.

   Elaine the fair, Elaine the loveable,

Elaine, the lily maid of Astolat,

High in her chamber up a tower to the east

Guarded the sacred shield of Lancelot;

Which first she placed where morning's earliest ray
Might strike it, and awake her with the gleam;

Then fearing rust of soilure fashioned for it

A case of silk, and braided thereupon

All of the devices blazoned on the shield

In their own tinct, and added, of her wit,

A border fantasy of branch and flower,

And yellow-throated nestling in the nest,

Nor rested thus content, but day by day,
Leaving her household and good father, climbed
That eastern tower, and entering barred her door,
Stript off the case, and read the naked shield,
Now guessed a hidden meaning in his arms,
Now made a pretty history to herself
Of every dint a sword had beaten in it,
And every scratch a lance had made upon it,
Conjecturing when and where: this cut is fresh;
That ten years back; this dealt him at Caerlyle;
That at Caerleon; this at Camelot:
And ah God's mercy, what a stroke was there!
And here a thrust that might have killed, but God
Broke the strong lance, and rolled his enemy down,
And saved him: so she lived in fantasy.
