Hello, Happy Saturday.

It's almost Halloween, my favourite time of year.

Do you dress up for Halloween? Do you buy a costume or make your own? What's the best costume you've ever worn?

It doesn't have to be for Halloween, if you dress up for Easter I'd be happy to hear about that too.

I'm going to a fancy dress party tonight as Medusa. I've got some green face paint and I'm going to weave pipe cleaners into my hair to make it look like snakes. Getting dressed up is the best bit of going to a party.

That sounds like fun. I bet you'll make a great Medusa :D

I've never dressed up for Halloween (I don't think being goth for a while counts ;) ). One of the yards I was at ran a Halloween costume competition for the kids and their ponies though - that was fun to watch (though a little ill thought out....mud, dark, cold and no indoor arena didn't exactly help :lol3: )

No, we don't do anything at all for Halloween anymore. I "dress up" the hutch in the kitchen with some of my witch bottles and my black cat cookie jar. That's pretty much it.

No we don't do anything either.  My kids play dress up any time; but we don't celebrate Haloween and we've never been to a costume party either.  One of my friends does costume parties for her kids (not just this time of year); but they live in another state.

When I was real young, I dressed up. I can vividly remember my favorite costume. I was an Indian squaw. My Mom made me a sheath dress out of suede and it had finge on it with beads. She made me a wig of two long black braids out of yarn and I wore a matching headband. I also had a beautiful blanket with a tan, rust and black motif that I put around my shoulders on chilly Halloween nights. And I wore a pair of moccasins.

I grew up with horses and I always wanted to be a 'real' Indian, so I thought I was "all that and a bag of chips"!

Several years ago, my niece took all the 'little cousins' (about 11 of them between 2 and 7 years old) out Trick or Treating. She dressed up as Cruella De Ville and all the little kids dressed up as Dalmations! It was such a neat idea and they got a LOT of attention. They were even on the News that night! Apparently, someone had called in to tell them about Cruella and all her little puppies following her from house to house!

She was about 17 at the time and she bought her own costume, then each of the kid's parents bought their costumes.

I used to go to parties when I was in my teens and twenties, but now, I just stay home with my cats and watch movies. I live in a 3rd floor apartment, so I never get Trick or Treaters.

If I had to dress up today, I would probably bleach my hair, put on my flannel PJ pants, some fuzzy slippers, a hot-pink "I'm a Crazy Cat Lady" T-shirt, and grab a Walmart shopping bag and go out as a Walmart Shopper! LOL

as a kid i wore costumes for halloween, but not as an adult. i actually don't remember any of the costumes i wore as a kid. i don't live in an area where people tend to host adult halloween parties, but i like the idea. i very much enjoy seeing other people in costumes!
