Bump on Felix's nose

I recently moved from Connecticut to Colorado and within a few days noticed this spot on my Felix's nose. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. I can't tell what it is. We're staying at a friends and he has a tendency to try and look under doorways. I'm wonder if he hit it on a door or if it's something else. He's my baby so I'm a little concerned.

It kind of looks like an injury a cat would get pushing a nose under a door. Does it feel like it's filled with fluid? Mine had one a little above yours and it ended up being an abcess he got from a scuffle with another cat. Because Of where it's swollen if it gets any bigger or if it looks like it's filled with fluid I'd take him to the vet to get checked out.

Welcome to TCS! He's adorable!

It could be any number of things, including a bacterial infection creating a small abcess, like @hexiesfriend  mentioned. A small wound, possibly created by the pressure from the doors, can easily get infected by bacteria or a fungus. Because of the location on the face, I would take him to the vet sooner rather than later. I don't mean to scare you, but Infections can become systemic and anything in the head region puts the cat in great danger for a fast-acting brain infection. It's not likely to happen but it can and it's the kind of situation that's easily preventable with early treatment of local infections.

It can also be something else entirely, but again, only a veterinarian can say. Please let us know how he's doing and what the vet said!

No there's fluid, just a small raised area. It hasn't been changing in size

Thanks for advice. I'm going to find a vet on Monday and I'll let you all know what they say

My feeling is that it is from Felix pushing his nose under a closed door. Is he forbidden from a certain room OR kept in a room during the day? Maybe change out the door with something else such as gates or a screen OR I have even used a plexi-glass slider in the past. He will keep hitting the nose unless you make a change. I am not thinking this is anything serious at all but certainly it could be totally unrelated of the door so a vet check would be advised !!! :wavey:

I agree.  Don't take chances.  See a vet.  If you're in the Denver area, one of the best in the business is there.  Man has his own TV show.  One of my friends uses him, and thinks the sun rises and sets on this guy's head.  If I had the money, I'd move there just for him to tend to Hekitty.
